Olive
Berta Anthony, daughter of Andrew and Mary Jane Crisp Blankenship,
was born June 11, 1911, near Lynchburg, Missouri. She departed
this life Sunday, December 22, 2002, in Breech Regional
Medical Center, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of ninety-one
years, six months, and eleven days.
On May 18, 1940, she was united in marriage to Leo Wayne
Anthony, and to this union four daughters and two sons were
born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leo,
on March 9, 2001; four brothers, Jessie, Virgil, Eli, and
Jim Blankenship; and two sisters, Myrtle Handley, and Verba
Williams.
Olive is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Allen
Leo Anthony, of Raymore, Missouri, and Donald Dale and Brenda
Anthony, of Fort Worth, Texas; four daughters and sons-in-law,
Alta Joy and Gerald Lucas, of Enid, Oklahoma, Vera Fae and
Steven Burwell, of Lebanon, Missouri, Marietta and Harold
Biggs, of Falcon, Missouri, and Nola Mae and Randall Rahe,
of Libertyville, Illinois; three grandsons, Gerald Lucas,
Jr., of Enid, Oklahoma, Brian Anthony, of Fort Worth, Texas,
and Alec Rahe, of Libertyville, Illinois; four granddaughters,
Marie Anthony, of Fort Worth, Texas, Beth Tindle, of Claremore,
Oklahoma, Nicole Rahe, of Libertyville, Illinois, and Patricia
Marshall, of Lebanon, Missouri; eight great-grandchildren;
a sister, Lela Williams, of Lebanon, Missouri; a number
of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives
and friends.
She was born and raised in the Lynchburg, Missouri area.
After she and Leo were married, they made their home on
their farm in the Oakland community, and lovingly raised
their children. Throughout the years, Olive was a devoted
and hardworking homemaker and also helped her husband in
the operation of their farm.
She liked growing a garden each year and enjoyed sharing
her homegrown produce and canning large quantities of vegetables
and fruits. Caring for her family and making a home for
them was the central most important thing in her life. She
loved her family dearly and especially enjoyed her grandchildren
and great-grandchildren.
Olive was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother,
sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend.
She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed, but the
wonderful memories she created for her family and friends
will live on forever.
Services will be held December 27, 2002 at
10:00a.m. in the Holman-Howe Chapel. Burial will follow
in the Antioch Cemetery, Oakland, Missouri. Visitation will
be held December 26, 2002 from 7-8:30 at the Holman-Howe
Funeral Home, Lebanon, Missouri.
Butterfield, Walter, 46
Walter Roy Butterfield, son of Leslie Noble
and Dorothy F. Sargent Butterfield, was born September 19,
1956, in Marshfield, Missouri. He departed this life Friday,
December 20, 2002, in Glenwood Healthcare, in Seymour, Missouri,
from complications of multiple sclerosis, at the age of
forty-six years, three months, and one day.
In 1982, he was united in marriage to Tammy Sue Richardson
Jenson, and to this union one daughter and one son were
born.
His father and his wife, Tammy, preceded him in death.
Walter is survived by a son, Michael Roy Butterfield, of
Seymour, Missouri; a daughter, Mindi Sue Butterfield, of
Fordland, Missouri; his mother, Dorothy Butterfield, of
Seymour, Missouri; a stepson, James Jenson, of Greenville,
Texas; a stepdaughter, Jennifer Jenson, of Greenville, Texas;
three sisters and brothers-in-law, Pearl and Bob Raymond,
of Seymour, Missouri, Elaine and Louis Grasher, of Macomb,
Missouri, and Betty and Jim Lile, of Lake Tawakoni, Texas;
a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other
relatives and friends.
He was born and raised in the Gentry community, where he
attended Gentry Elementary School, and then Seymour High
School. In 1981, he moved to Texas and worked as a forklift
operator for the Rubbermaid Company in Greenville, Texas.
After being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, he returned
to Seymour in 1991 to be near his family.
Walter was raised in the Protestant faith.
He enjoyed motorcycles, and restoring old vehicles. He also
liked building model cars. His family was very important
to him and he was especially close his children.
Walter was a loving father, son, brother, and uncle, and
was a caring neighbor and friend. He will be fondly remembered
and sadly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Graveside Services will be held December 23,
2002 at 11:00a.m. in the Seymour Masonic Cemetery under
the direction of the Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Seymour,
Missouri.

Oka
Irene Calhoun, daughter of Raymond and Eve Lakey Helsley,
was born March 9, 1919, in Wright County, Missouri. She
departed this life Wednesday, December 11, 2002, in St.
John's Regional Health Center, in Springfield, Missouri,
at the age of eighty-three years, nine months, and two days.
On December 24, 1938, she was united in marriage to Manie
Calhoun, and to this union one daughter and one son were
born.
Her parents, and a brother-in-law, Vance McGaw, preceded
her in death.
Oka is survived by her loving husband of almost sixty-four
years, Manie, of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Curt
and Connie Calhoun, of Mansfield, Missouri; a daughter and
son-in-law, Bonnie and Paul Young, of Rogersville, Missouri;
five grandchildren and their spouses, David and Lisa Young,
of Rogersville, Missouri, Mike and Christina Young, of Marshfield,
Missouri, Jimmy and Kelly Young, of Springfield, Missouri,
Rhonda and Duane Widhalm, of Houston, Missouri, and Matt
and Shawnette Calhoun, of Mansfield, Missouri; ten great-grandchildren,

She was born and raised in Wright County, Missouri. After

Oka made her profession of faith in Christ early in her
life and was a longtime member of Wolf Creek Freewill Baptist
Church. She was a true example of a Christian lady who enjoyed

In her spare time she liked to crochet. Her family was very
important to her and she especially enjoyed her grandchildren
and great-grandchildren.
Oka was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother,
sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend.
She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all
those who knew and loved her.
Services will be held December 14, 2002 in
the Holman-Howe Funeral Home Chapel, Mansfield, Missouri.

Choate, Leon, 72
Leon
Richard Choate, son of Lurman and Viva Allen Choate, was
born October 14, 1930, in Success, Arkansas. He departed
this life Sunday, December 15, 2002, at his home, in Mansfield,
Missouri, at the age of seventy-two years, two months, and
one day.
On September 22, 1973, he was united in marriage to Suzann
Clark, and together they shared the last twenty-nine years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Alva
J. Choate; and a sister, Mary Helen Davis.
Leon is survived by his wife, Susie, of the home; two sons,
Benjamin Choate, of Mansfield, Missouri, and Clark Choate,
of Lebanon, Missouri; three daughters, Kim Brown, of Cape
Girardeau, Missouri, Christa Choate, of Springfield, Missouri,
and Katelyn Choate, of the home; a grandson, Conner Benjamin
Choate, of Mansfield, Missouri; a brother, Elmer Choate,
of O'Fallon, Missouri; his mother-in-law, Hazel Clark, of
Mansfield, Missouri; as well as a host of other relatives
and friends.
He was born and raised in Success, Arkansas. At the age
of eighteen, he moved to St. Louis for a few years. He lived
most of his life in the Mansfield area and worked in the
shoe manufacturing business in Mansfield and Cuba, Missouri
for several years. In 1977, he and Susie opened Choates
Furniture in Mansfield and operated that business until
1982. Leon became the Administrator of the Mansfield Housing
Authority in 1980, and was currently still serving in that
position.
He also attended Mansfield United Methodist Church.
He was an active member of the Mansfield Lions Club. In
his spare time he was an avid gardener, and was especially
adept at growing corn, potatoes, cucumbers, beets, tomatoes,
and eggplant. He also enjoyed music and learned to play
the guitar at a young age. He had played both the acoustic
and electric (lead) guitar in several country bands throughout
the years. He had a talent for working with tools and was
a "Jack-of-all trades". His family was very important
to him and he especially enjoyed his children and grandson.
He was greatly respected and loved by many. He was more
than any ordinary man - he was our daddy. Our love for him
will never die.
Services will be held December 18, 2002 at
11:00a.m. in the Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Mansfield, Missouri.
Burial will follow in the Mansfield Cemetery. Visitation
will be held December 17, 2002 from 7-8:00p.m. in the funeral
home.
Collins, Danne, 55
Danne
Edward Collins, son of Ralph E. and Anna Jane Ackroyd Collins,
was born January 20, 1947, in Lebanon, Missouri. He departed
this life Monday, December 9, 2002, while at work in Rogersville,
Missouri, at the age of fifty-five years, ten months, and
nineteen days.
On December 6, 1975, he was united in marriage to Jeannette
Alta Downing, and to this union one daughter and three sons
were born.
His maternal and paternal grandparents preceded him in death.
Danne is survived by his loving wife of twenty-seven years,
Jeannette, of the home; a daughter, Niki Lynn Collins, of
Springfield, Missouri; three sons, Cory Collins, of Columbia,
Missouri, Jeremy Collins, of Springfield, Missouri, and
Adam Collins, of the home; his parents, Ralph and Jane Collins,
of Green Valley, Arizona; two brothers, Mike Collins, and
his wife, Shannon, of Tucson, Arizona, and Lance Collins,
and his wife, Pam, of Searcy, Arkansas; a sister, Becky
Pahlke, and her husband, Rolf, of St. Louis, Missouri; a
number of nieces and nephews; his father-in-law and mother-in-law,
John and Verna Downing, of Ozark, Missouri; as well as a
host of other relatives and friends.
He was born in Lebanon, Missouri and was raised in Missouri
and in New Mexico. He graduated from the Lovington High
School in Lovington, New Mexico, in the Class of 1965. He
then received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Math from
New Mexico State University, in Las Cruces, New Mexico.
He also served several years in the Army National Guard.
After graduating he moved to Springfield, Missouri, where
he was employed by Commerce Bank for five years. During
this time he met and married Jeannette and they made their
home in Springfield. In 1976, he and Jeannette moved to
Waynesville, Missouri, where Danne served as Vice-President
of the First National Bank, which later became the First
State Bank. They recently moved to Ozark, Missouri, and
Danne had just begun serving as Vice-President of the Citizens
Bank of Rogersville, Missouri.
While residing in Waynesville, Danne had been a member of
the Waynesville Chamber of Commerce and also served two
terms on the Waynesville City Council. In his spare time
he enjoyed fishing and playing baseball, but his favorite
pastime was playing golf. His family was very important
to him and he loved spending time with his children. He
had a delightful sense of humor and an outgoing personality,
and enjoyed being the center of attention.
Danne was a loving husband, father, son, brother, and uncle,
and was a caring neighbor and friend. He will be fondly
remembered as a devoted family man, a dedicated businessman,
and a good friend, and will be greatly missed by all those
who knew and loved him.
Services will be held December 13, 2002 at
2:00p.m. in the Holman-Howe Chapel. Burial will follow in
the New Hope Cemetery near Long Lane, Missouri. Visitation
will be held December 12, 2002 from 7-8:30 at the Holman-Howe

Virginia L. Delli, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Gustav Zolmer, was born November 23, 1942, in Chicago, Illinois.
She departed this life Thursday, December 12, 2002, in Lake
Regional Health Systems, in Osage Beach, Missouri, at the
age of sixty years, and nineteen days.
In October of 1962, she was united in marriage to David
G. Delli, and to this union two daughters and one son were
born.
Her parents, and a sister, Della Lein, preceded her in death.
Virginia is survived by her husband, David, of the home;
two daughters and sons-in-law, Victoria L. and Roy Pipia,
of Elmwood Park, Illinois, and Tracy and Steve Rzewnicki,
of Norridge, Illinois; a son, Tim Delli, of Elmwood Park,
Illinois; five grandchildren, Jenavieve, Claire, and Rory
Pipia, and Jessica and Christopher Rzewnicki; as well as
a host of other relatives and friends.
Besides being a devoted homemaker to her husband and family,
she and David owned and operated Delli's Clearwater Resort
for fifteen years.
Virginia will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by
all of her family and many friends.

John Christopher Franklin, son of Clarence
and Ruby Fudge Franklin, was born December 13, 1935, near
Linn Creek, Missouri. He departed this life Monday, December
9, 2002, at Lake Regional Health Systems, in Osage Beach,
Missouri, at the age of sixty-six years, eleven months,
and twenty-six days.
On March 13, 1980, he was united in marriage to Patty Malaniey,
and together they shared the last twenty-two years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Imagene.
John is survived by his wife, Patty, of the home; a son,
Chris Franklin, and his wife, Diane, of Camdenton, Missouri;
three daughters, Deanna McArthur, of St. Louis, Missouri,
Dawn Jeffries, of Brumley, Missouri, and Terri Heintz, of
Springfield, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Christopher
and Andrew Franklin, Tony Beabout, Dylan Jeffries, Kelsi
and Taylor Heintz, and Nathan and Benjamin McArthur; as
well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born and raised in the Linn Creek area, and graduated
from Camdenton High School. He served his country faithfully
in the United States Army from 1956 until 1959. He then
made his home in Linn Creek and worked for thirty years
as a contractor in his own business called Circle Z Excavating
Heavy Equipment.
He had served on the Camden County Republican Committee,
and enjoyed hunting in his spare time
John was a loving husband, and will be remembered by all
those who knew him.
Services will be held December 11, 2002 at
11:00a.m. in the Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton,
Missouri. Visitation will be held December 11 at 10:00 a.m.

Ivy, James, Ewing, Sr., 86
James
Ewing Ivy, Sr., son of James L. and Mollie E. Lancaster
Ivy, was born July 25, 1916, in Mountain View, Arkansas.
He departed this life Saturday, December 21, 2002, in Christian
Healthcare North, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of eighty-six
years, four months, and twenty-six days.
In 1945, he was united in marriage to Joan Joy Augustine,
and to this union one daughter and one son were born. Joan
preceded him in death on July 15, 1973.
In 1975, he married Hazel McFadin Shaw, and together they
shared eighteen years before her passing on December 30,
1993.
He also was preceded in death by his parents; a brother,
Charles T. Ivy; and a sister, Ruth Bevel.
Ewing is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, James and
Sheri Ivy, of Long Lane, Missouri; a daughter and son-in-law,
Pam and Michael Kirkham, of Hesperia, California; a stepdaughter,
Carol Lynn Endicott, and her husband, Bob, of Lake City,
Minnesota; four grandchildren, Kerry, Kyle, Lori, and Clint;
five great-grandchildren; a sister, Winifred Mae Ivy, of
Memphis, Tennessee; a number of nieces and nephews; a special
friend, Marie Hill, of Lebanon, Missouri; as well as a host
of other relatives and friends.
He was born and raised in the Mountain View, Arkansas area.
He served his country faithfully in the United States Navy
from January 14, 1942 until his honorable discharge on November
15, 1947. He and Joan made their home in China Lake, California
for many years, and Ewing was employed as a civil service
machinist for the China Lake Naval Base. In 1975, he retired
back to Mountain View, Arkansas where he met and married
Hazel, and they owned and operated a grocery store for several
years. About seven years ago, Ewing moved to Lebanon to
be near his son and his family. During the last few years,
he had enjoyed spending time with a very special friend,
Marie Hill, and she had been a wonderful help to him.
Ewing was a 32nd Degree Mason in the Masonic Lodge and was
very proud of his association with the Masons throughout
the years. He enjoyed fishing and going to flea markets,
and also liked taking long drives and eating out. His family
was very important to him and he enjoyed spending time with
them.
Ewing was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather,
brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend.
He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those
who knew and loved him.
Services will be held December 23, 2002 at
7:00p.m. in the Holman-Howe Drawing Room. Visitation will
follow the service. Burial will be held in Mountain View,
Arkansas under the direction of the Holman-Howe Funeral
Home, Lebanon, Missouri.

He was born and raised in Weiser, Idaho and later moved
with his family to Mansfield where he graduated from Mansfield
High School with the class of 1951. Shortly after graduation,
he entered the U.S. Army and served his country faithfully
as a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Unit during the
Korean War. Val had owned and operated an automotive repair
business most of his adult life until his passing. During
earlier years, he was very active in the community always
willing to help those that were in need.
He was a member of the Clarence King American Legion Post
#128 and V.F.W. in Mansfield. In his spare time he enjoyed
gardening and spending time with his family and friends.
His family was very important to him and he was able to
have Christmas Eve. with all of his children.
Val was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather,
brother, uncle, and was a very caring neighbor and friend.
He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those
who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson, Darrell
W. Bullock; two sisters, Pauline Martin, and Lucille Smith;
and two half-brothers, Claude and Albert Moore.
Wilson is survived by his wife, Ann, of the home; one son,
David Rick, and his wife, Ruth, of Eagle Bend, Minnesota;
one daughter, Debra Shine and her husband Arnold, of Lebanon,
Missouri; nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren;
a half-brother, Eddie Hisel, and his wife Sue, of Lathrop,
Missouri; two half-sisters, Erma Lee Hunt, of Plattsburg,
Missouri; Helen Atkinson, of Cameron, Missouri; and a step
sister, Nancy Waters of Liberty, Missouri; a number of nieces
and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
Wilson had made his profession of belief in Christ and was
a member of the First Assembly of God church in Lathrop,
Missouri.
He was born and raised in the Lathrop, Missouri area and
was graduate of the Lathrop High School. Wilson served his
country faithfully over a period of twenty years in the
United States Air Force and then in the Reserves for three
years. During World War II he was stationed in several locations
in the United States, England, and several other countries.
He was a member of the V.F.W. Post #4107 for several years
and was very proud to have served his country.
After his time in the Air Force, he worked as a supervisor
over the maintenance department for the King Oil Company
in Kansas City, Missouri for ten years.
In his spare time he greatly enjoyed being outdoors hunting,
fishing, and camping.
Wilson was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather,
brother, uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. He
will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those
who knew and loved him.
Services will be held December 28, 2002 at
2:00p.m. in the Lathrop First Assembly of God Church, Lathrop,
Missouri. Burial will follow in the Lathrop Cemetery. Visitation

Bonnie
Lee Holland, daughter of Thomas and Liza Ellen Mann Brawley,
was born September 29, 1917, near Ellington, Missouri. She
departed this life Tuesday, December 3, 2002, in Christian
Healthcare South, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of eighty-five
years, two months, and four days.
In July of 1939, she was united in marriage to Marvin H.
Holland, and to this union one daughter and two sons were
born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Harold
Holland; eight brothers, Jack, Paul, Gene, Herman, Bert,
Dave, Timon, and Charles; and two sisters, Bernice and Gladys.
Bonnie is survived by her husband of sixty-three years,
Marvin, of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Connie and
Ed Simpson, of Lebanon, Missouri; a son and daughter-in-law,
Ken and Peggy Holland, of Cuba, Missouri; a daughter-in-law,
Ann Holland, of Jefferson City, Missouri; six grandchildren,
Karen Simpson, Chris Holland, Jason Holland, Scott Holland,
Ali Ziegenmier, and Kim Newman; eight great-grandchildren,
Lauren, Ben, Joey, Raegan, Luke, Kaitlyn, Kiele, and Karsen;
a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other
relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in Reynolds County, Missouri. She
met her husband, Marvin, while he was working in the C.
C. C. Camp, during the depression. After they were married,
they made their home near Deer Run Park, while Marvin was
employed by the Department of Conservation, and lovingly
raised their children. In 1953, they moved to Salem, Missouri
where they lived until moving to Lebanon in February of
this year. Throughout her life, Bonnie was a devoted and
hardworking homemaker.
Bonnie professed her faith in Christ as a young lady and
was baptized in the Logan Creek in Reynolds County, Missouri.
She enjoyed fishing, and liked canning food that she grew
in her own garden. She was an excellent cook and was particularly
known for her home baked items. She loved her family dearly
and her number one concern was taking care of her husband's
every need.
Bonnie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother,
and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. She will
be fondly remembered and greatly missed, but the wonderful
memories she created for her family and friends will live
on forever.
Services were held December 6, 2002 at 1:00
in the Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Lebanon, Missouri. Burial
followed in the Lake Springs Cemetery, near Rolla, Missouri.
Visitation was held December 5, 2002 from 7-8:30 in the
Funeral Home.
Honey, Jacob Melvin, 84
Jacob
Melvin Honey, son of John M. and Catherine "Dolly"
Roberts Honey, was born September 10, 1918, near Corkery,
Missouri. He departed this life Sunday, December 15, 2002,
in his daughter's home, near Morgan, Missouri, at the age
of eighty-four years, three months, and five days.
On September 8, 1942, he was united in marriage to Eva Grace
Matteson, his childhood sweetheart, in a ceremony at the
home of the Rev. D. M. Young. To this union six daughters
and two sons were born.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of fifty-five
years, Eva, on March 17, 1997; a daughter, Catherine Wolf;
two brothers, John and Roy Honey; and a sister, Lela Cole.
Jacob is survived by two sons, Melvin Honey, and his wife,
Vickie, of Longview, Washington, and James Honey, and his
wife, Barbara Sue, of Lebanon, Missouri; five daughters,
Juanita Bundt, and her husband, Vernon, of Glidden, Iowa,
Jennie Honey, of Springfield, Missouri, Linda Steinmark,
and her husband, Charley, of Lebanon, Missouri, Leslie Arnold,
and her husband, Mark, of Willard, Missouri, and Lori Bohannon,
and her husband, John, of Morgan, Missouri; a son-in-law,
Ronnie Wolf, of Phillipsburg, Missouri; nineteen grandchildren;
sixteen great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Alice Cook,
of Lebanon, Missouri; a special nephew, John Honey, of Huntsville,
Missouri; a number of other nieces and nephews; as well
as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born and raised in the Mullicane community, west
of Lebanon, and attended the Mullicane School. He left home
in January of 1941 and served his country faithfully in
the United States Army during World War II, until being
honorably discharged in October of 1945. During the War
he served in the 14th Horse Cavalry and later the 290th
Infantry and participated in the Rhineland Ardenned campaign.
For his meritorious service he was awarded two Bronze Stars.
After the war, he and Eva made their home on the Honey farm
for two years and then moved to Randolph County, in northern
Missouri, where they farmed for fifteen years. In 1960,
they sold the farm and moved back to Laclede County where
they eventually made their home near Phillipsburg, and lovingly
raised their family. From 1962 until 1978, Jacob worked
as a Civil Service employee in the Post Engineer Warehouse
at Fort Leonard Wood.
Jacob made his profession of faith in Christ at Mount Salem
Baptist Church in Huntsville, Missouri on April 24, 1955.
He served as a Sunday school teacher and Superintendent
and as a Deacon, and filled the pulpit on various occasions.
He was a member of the Phillipsburg Baptist Church until
it disbanded and then transferred his membership to the
Community Baptist Church near Lebanon for several years.
He recently moved his membership to the Morgan Baptist Church
to be closer to home.
In his spare time he enjoyed going to garage sales and used
to like to go rabbit hunting. He possessed a wonderful talent
and ability for writing poetry and did so for most of his
adult life. He wrote his first poem in 1941, during World
War II, and since then had written literally hundreds. In
1998, with the help of his family, he was able to have a
book of his poems published with the title of "Under
the Maple Tree". Many of his poems were about his family,
childhood memories, and special events and occasions. He
enjoyed sharing his poems with children and other groups
and had given talks to several of the area grade school
students and various church groups. He also was a gifted
storyteller and loved sharing his stories and poems in a
most entertaining fashion.
Jacob was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather,
brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend.
He will be fondly remembered as a loving family man, a Christian
gentleman, and as a gifted poet with a delightful sense
of humor.
Services will be held December 18, 2002 at
10:00a.m. in the Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Lebanon, Missouri.
Burial will follow in the Lonesome Hill Cemetery, Phillipsburg,
Missouri. Visitation will be held December 17, 2002 from
7-8:30p.m. in the funeral home.
Howe, Robert Wesley, 56
Robert
Wesley Howe, son of William Illett and Mildred Houston Howe,
was born September 28, 1946, in Richland, Missouri. He departed
this life Saturday, December 14, 2002, near his home, in
Stoutland, Missouri, at the age of fifty-six years, two
months, and sixteen days.
On November 18, 1966, he was united in marriage to Darietta
Lane Reid, and to this union one daughter and one son were
born.
He was preceded in death by his father; his father-in-law,
Wayne Reid; a loving nephew, Brian Chastain; and a grand-nephew,
Shane Howe
Robert is survived by his loving wife of thirty-six years,
Darietta, of the home; a daughter, Christina Howe, of Stoutland,
Missouri; a son, Kevin Howe, of the home; his mother, Mildred
Howe Massey, of Stoutland, Missouri; his mother-in-law,
June Reid, of Lebanon, Missouri; a brother, Jim Howe, and
his wife, Linda, of Bolivar, Missouri; two stepsisters,
Gail Amos, of Grovespring, Missouri, and Doris Buck, of
Ozark, Missouri; a sister-in-law, Marietta Chastain, and
her husband, David, of Lebanon, Missouri; a niece, Kim Quennoz;
a nephew, Jeff Howe; and a number of other nieces and nephews
that were all like children to him as well; and a host of
other relatives and friends.
He was raised in the Stoutland community, and graduated
from Stoutland High School in the Class of 1964. He then
attended Southwest Baptist University, in Bolivar, Missouri.
He started working as a United States Civil Service employee
at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri in 1966, and at the time
of his retirement from the civil service in 1999, he was
the director of the Defense Automated Printing Services.
He currently was working in that same position only as a
contract worker.
Robert made his profession of faith in Christ in 1986, and
was an active member of Beulah Baptist Church, near Richland.
He was a faithful Sunday school teacher through the years,
and was ordained as a Deacon on October 27, 2002.
He liked being outdoors where he enjoyed hunting and fishing
in his spare time. He was a lifetime member of the National
Rifle Association and was a charter member of the "Lake
House Fisherman's Club". His family was very important
to him and he was especially close to his children.
Robert was a loving husband, father, son, brother, and uncle,
and was a caring neighbor and friend. He will be fondly
remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and
loved him.
Services will be held December 17, 2002 in
the Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Lebanon. Burial will follow
in the Mount Rose Memorial Park. Visitation will be held
December 16, 2002 from 7-8:30 in the chapel under the direction

Denise Annette Evans Huber, daughter of Thomas
N. and Virginia Pierce Evans, was born January 29, 1958,
in Mansfield, Missouri. She departed this life Thursday,
December 12, 2002, in her home, near Ava, Missouri, at the
age of forty-four years, ten months, and thirteen days.
She was united in marriage to T. Wayne Huber, and together
they shared the last several years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Diane
Ray, and Deborah Evans; and a nephew, Fredie Joseph, Jr.
Denise is survived by her husband, T. Wayne, of the home;
a stepson, Matthew Huber, of Mansfield, Missouri; seven
brothers, Thomas Evans, Jr., of Oscala, Florida, Michael
Evans, of Wister, Oklahoma, Gary Evans, of Rye, Texas, Edward
and James Evans, both of Manassas, Virginia, Stanley Evans,
of Oscala, Florida, and Glen Evans, of Bakersfield, California;
three sisters, Virginia Pennuel, of Arlington, Texas, Patricia
Joseph, of Mansfield, Missouri, and Danielle Gute, of Mountain
Grove, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; as well
as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in the Ava community, and graduated
from Ava High School. She then was employed by Hagale Industries
and Emerson Electric for several years. She later graduated
from Vatterott College, in Springfield, Missouri. After
she and T. Wayne were married, they made their home in the
Ava area and Denise was a devoted homemaker to her husband
and family.
Denise had attended Mansfield First Baptist Church and the
New Life Family Worship Center.
In her spare time she enjoyed sewing and raising cats. Her
family was very important to her and she enjoyed having
time to spend with them.
Denise was a loving wife, stepmother, sister, and aunt,
and was a caring neighbor and friend. She will be fondly
remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and
loved her.

Lester Vernon Jenkins, son of A. C. and Myrtle
Lethco Jenkins, was born September 24, 1914, near Good Hope,
Missouri. He departed this life Saturday, December 14, 2002,
in Glenwood Healthcare, in Seymour, Missouri, at the age
of eighty-eight years, two months, and twenty days.
On December 25, 1938, he was united in marriage to Reta
"Pauline" Richards, and to this union one daughter
was born.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers,
Thetis and Albert Jenkins.
Lester is survived by his loving wife of almost sixty-four
years, Pauline, of the home; a daughter and son-in-law,
Beverly Sue and Jim Wetherton, of Lenexa, Kansas; a granddaughter,
De Recia Wade, and her husband, Eric, of Olathe, Kansas;
three great-grandchildren, Jimmy Burt, Jordon, and Josh
Wade, all of Olathe, Kansas; a foster daughter, Mary Lou
Hendricks, and her husband, Robert, of Fairview, Oklahoma;
a foster son, Finis "Skip" Berry, of Ava, Missouri;
four foster grandsons, Curtis, Gary, Jacky, and Robert Hendricks;
a sister, Viola Dacy, and her husband, Don, of Fair Play,
Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host
of other relatives and friends.
He was born and raised in the Good Hope community, near
Ava. After he and Pauline were married, they made their
home in the same area until moving to Seymour in 1996. Lester
had served as a Deputy Sheriff in Douglas County, and had
also driven a bus for the Ava School District for several
years.
Lester had made his profession of belief in Christ and followed
the Pentecostal faith throughout his life.
He enjoyed country music and had performed in a group for
several years. He also enjoyed being outdoors where one
of his favorite activities was hunting. His family was very
important to him and he was especially close to his grandchildren.
Lester was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather,
brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend.
He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those
who knew and loved him.

Daniel Kamp, son of William and Harriet Jadwiga Wrublewska
Kamprowski, was born May 1, 1926, in Chicago, Illinois.
He departed this life Sunday, December 8, 2002, in Breech
Regional Medical Center, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age
of seventy-six years, seven months, and seven days.
On October 16, 1948, he was united in marriage to Elizabeth
Louise Druml, and to this union one daughter and two sons
were born.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Elizabeth
"Bette" Kamp.
Bill is survived by a daughter, Cynthia Louise Soptick,
and her husband, James, of Lebanon, Missouri; two sons,
Daniel William Kamp, and his wife, Betsy, and Ronald William
Kamp, and his wife, Joanne, all of McHenry, Illinois; three
granddaughters, Candice Tyre, and her husband, Nick, Amanda
Holt, all of Lebanon, Missouri, and Ujenda Kamp, of Palatine,
Illinois; two grandsons, Chad Kamp, and his wife, Jenny,
and Adam Kamp, all of Spring Grove, Illinois; a great-grandson,
Kyle Daniel Tyre, of Lebanon, Missouri; a step-granddaughter,
Crystal Marmouget, of Springfield, Missouri; a step-grandson,
Ethan Folks, of Springfield, Missouri; a sister, Arlene
Gazzardo, of McHenry, Illinois; a nephew, Rick Bruscato,

He was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, and graduated
from Linn Technical High School. He served his country faithfully
in the United States Army during World War II. After he
and Bette were married, they made their home in McHenry,
Illinois for several years, and lovingly raised their family.
In 1971, he and Bette moved to Lebanon, Missouri, where
Bill was the machine shop instructor at the Lebanon Technology
Career Center for twenty years. He and Bette also owned
and operated the Ranch House Snack Shop in Bennett Springs
for several years.
Bill was a longtime active member of St. Francis DeSales
Catholic Church in Lebanon, where he was involved in the
Cursillo Movement and was a Fourth Degree member of the
Knights of Columbus.
In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, camping, and attending
music shows in Branson, Missouri. He also liked doing woodworking
projects in his home workshop. His family was very important
to him and he especially enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandson.
Bill was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather,
brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend.
He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those
who knew and loved him.
Services will be held December 11, 2002 at
the St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church at 3:00p.m. Burial

Lander, was born February 4, 1985, in Springfield, Missouri.
She departed this life Wednesday, December 11, 2002, from
injuries received in an automobile accident near Grovespring,
Missouri, at the age of seventeen years, ten months, and
seven days.
She is survived by her parents, Billy and Pam Lander, of
the home; two sisters, Brandy and Brittany Lander, both
of the home; her maternal grandparents, Wayne and Lois Blattel,
of Eldridge, Missouri; her paternal grandparents, Lawrence
and Ina Lander, of Rogersville, Missouri; her aunts and
uncles, Catherine Lander, of Grovespring, Missouri, Angie
and Jerry Vanderpool, of California, Missouri, and Billy
Dale and Cassie Blattel, of Eldridge, Missouri; several
cousins; as well as a host of other relatives and many friends.
Bridget was born in Springfield and was raised in the Lebanon,
Missouri area, where she attended Kindergarten. Her family
then After her family moved to the Grovespring community,
and she attended the Grovespring Elementary School and was
currently in her senior year of study at Hartville High
School. She had played the flute and clarinet in the Hartville
High School Band and also had been on the girl's basketball
team. She enjoyed school and had taken part in many other
activities, and was eagerly anticipating graduating this
May.
Bridget had made her profession of faith in Christ and was
a member of Little Creek Baptist Church, near Hartville.
She loved her family dearly and was especially close to
her grandparents. She had a special bond with her sisters
and enjoyed spending time with them. She was a very thoughtful
person and liked helping others. She also loved animals
of all kinds, enjoyed driving around in her car, and liked
collecting bears. She loved life and enjoyed living it to
the fullest.*Bridget was a loving daughter, sister, granddaughter,
niece, and cousin, and was a kind and caring friend. She
will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all of her
family and many friends.

Lankford, son of Bert and Mary Holstine Lankford, was born
May 14, 1904, in Custer, Arkansas. He departed this life
Thursday, December 5, 2002, in Christian Healthcare South,
in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of ninety-eight years,
six months, and twenty-one days.
On November 20, 1940, he was united in marriage to Juanita
P. Hanna, and together they shared the last sixty-two years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Paul
V. Lankford, and Sidney Ragland; four brothers, Grover,
Herb, Floyd, and Joe Lankford; and three sisters, Jessie
Leach, Billie Burkhalter, and an infant, Georgia Lankford.
Paul is survived by his wife, Juanita, of the home; five
grandchildren, Jenni, Kathy, April, Charles, and Timothy;
a number of great-grandchildren; a step-daughter-in-law,
Jannie Ragland, of Dahlonega, Georgia; a sister, Grace Kirkland,
of Brookings, Oregon; as well as a host of other relatives
and friends.
He was born and raised in Arkansas, and then made his home
in Wyoming, where he drove a truck for the Texaco Company.
He moved to Missouri in 1938, and during World War II, was
a driver for the Holman Bus Lines. He later made his home
in California, where he owned and operated a restaurant
for several years. After retiring, he and Juanita moved
to Phillipsburg, Missouri and made their home.
He was an active member of the Phillipsburg Christian Church,
where he enjoyed his church fellowship.
In his spare time he liked to fish and hunt, and enjoyed
being outdoors. He found pleasure in the simple things of
life, sharing a meal and visiting with a friend. He was
a kind and loving man and enjoyed his friends and neighbors.
Paul was a loving husband, grandfather, great-grandfather,
and brother, and was a caring neighbor and friend. He will
be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who
knew and loved him.

Verba Inis Lowrance, daughter of Elbert Bertie
and Sarah Mitilda Dorris Martin, was born October 7, 1915,
near Hartville, Missouri. She departed this life Wednesday,
December 4, 2002, in Christian Healthcare South, in Lebanon,
Missouri, at the age of eighty-seven years, two months,
and twenty-seven days.
In 1956, she was united in marriage to Edgar Robert Lowrance
and together they shared sixteen years before his passing
on September 28, 1972.
She also was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Gene

Verba is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Glen and
Diana Lowrance, of Lebanon, Missouri; four grandchildren;
five great-grandchildren; a brother, Jack Martin, of Hartville,
Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host
of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in Wright County, Missouri. She
continued to live most of her adult years there except for
a few years when she made her home in Springfield. Besides
being a devoted and hardworking homemaker to her husband
and family, she also had operated a restaurant in Hartville
as well as having worked as a waitress for other area restaurants.
Verba was saved at an early age and attended the Assembly
of God Church.
She made her family the center of her life and enjoyed supporting
her family at school functions. She was a wonderful cook
and enjoyed caring for her home and growing beautiful flowers.
Verba was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother,
sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend.
She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all
those who knew and loved her.
Services were held Saturday, December 7, 2002
at 10:30a.m. in the Holman-Howe Funeral Home Chapel. Burial
followed in the Steele Memorial Cemetery. Visitation was
held December 6, 2002 from 7-8:30p.m. in the Holman-Howe
Funeral Home, Hartville, Missouri.

Opal Martin, the only daughter of Charles

On December 23, 1938, she was united in marriage to Isaac
Martin, and together they shared thirty-nine years before
his passing on May 24, 1978.
She was also preceded in death by her father, on July 17,
1948, and her mother, on April 3, 1981.
Opal is survived by a niece; two nephews; several cousins;
and a number of special caregivers and friends including,
Glenda and Bob Keith, of Mansfield, Missouri, George and
Merie Hicks, and Terry and Tracy Calton, all of Hartville,
Missouri, and Dodi Buttram, of Hartville, Missouri, who
was like a son to her.
Except for five years when she and Ike made their home in
California, Opal lived her entire life in Wright County.
For many years, she was employed in the custodial department
of the Hartville Schools. She also was a devoted homemaker.
Opal was converted in 1949 at the Pleasant Hill Freewill
Baptist Church. She later transferred her membership to
the Wolf Creek Freewill Baptist Church, where she was actively
involved for as long as her health allowed.
She also was a member of the Hartville Garden Club and enjoyed
growing beautiful flowers. She took great pride in her yard
and flower gardens and especially loved her roses.
Opal will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all
of her family and many friends.

Louise McClure, daughter of Lucas A. and Peggy D. Wilson
McClure, was born March 26, 2002, in Springfield, Missouri.
She departed this life Saturday, December 14, 2002, in her
home, in Stoutland, Missouri, at the age of eight months,
and eighteen days.
She is survived by her parents, Lucas and Peggy McClure,
of the home; a sister, Destiny Rose McClure, of the home;
her maternal grandparents, Sidney and Sherry Wilson, of
Stoutland, Missouri; her paternal grandparents, Patrick
and Margaret McClure, of Bolivar, Missouri, and Chuck and
Jenny Intres, of Falcon, Missouri; her maternal great-grandparents,
Richard Wilson, of Port Saint Lucie, Florida, Fay Wilson,
of Lynchburg, Virginia, and Peggy and Henry Wilson, of Stoutland,
Missouri; her paternal great-grandparents, Virginia Walters,
of Falcon, Missouri, Lindsay Godfrey, and H. W. and Andrea
Godfrey, all of Bolivar, Missouri, and Gene and Ruth Intres,
of Norwich, New York; her great-great-grandmother, Adola
Wilson, of Mason City, Iowa; as well as a host of other
relatives and friends.
Victoria was born slightly early and had to fight her way
through some health problems. She was a free spirited child
that loved being down on the floor more than being held.
She was always a happy child who wrinkled her nose whenever
she smiled. She was greatly loved by all of her family.
Although her time on earth was very short she had touched
the hearts of many. She will be lovingly remembered and
greatly missed by all those who knew her.
Services will be held December 18, 2002 at
2:00p.m. in the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Burial will
follow in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
Mitchell, Marvin, 55
Marvin Eugene Mitchell, son of Marvin C. and
Mary R. Huffman Mitchell, was born December 22, 1946, in
Taney County, Missouri. He departed this life Tuesday, December
3, 2002, in his home, near Mansfield, Missouri, at the age
of fifty-five years, eleven months, and eleven days.
On June 6, 1964, he was united in marriage to Linda Lee
Moore, and together they shared the last thirty-eight years.
He was preceded in death by his father; and a niece, Amy
Deakins.
Marvin is survived by his wife, Linda, of the home; his
mother, Mary Mitchell, of Seymour, Missouri; two brothers,
David Mitchell, of Seymour, Missouri, and Terry Mitchell,
of Mansfield, Missouri; two sisters, Sandy Deakins, of Ava,
Missouri, and Jackie Keithley, of Ozark, Missouri; several
nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives
and friends.
He lived most of his life in the Seymour community and attended
Seymour schools. He had made his home in Oregon and in Washington
for awhile before returning to the Mansfield area. For many
years he had worked in the construction industry.
Marvin had made his profession of faith in Christ and attended
the Seymour Freewill Baptist Church.
In his spare time he enjoyed being outdoors where his favorite
activities included fishing and hunting. His family was
very important to him and he enjoyed visiting with his friends.
Marvin was a loving husband, son, brother, and uncle, and
was a caring neighbor and friend. He will be fondly remembered
and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.

Mary Marlene Patterson, daughter of Charles
G. and Mary Edith Richardson Patterson, was born October
1, 1935, in Taylorsville, Kentucky. She departed this life
Wednesday, December 4, 2002, in the Strafford Care Center,
in Strafford, Missouri, at the age of sixty-seven years,
two months, and three days.
On May 19, 1955, she was united in marriage to Gayle H.
Clark and to this union two daughters and one son were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Charles
Patterson, Jr.; and a sister, Barbara Barbee.
Marlene is survived by two daughters, Tina McMains, and
Lisa Robertson, and her husband, Rick, all of Grovespring,
Missouri; a son, Terry Clark, and his wife, Brenda, of Grovespring,
Missouri; eight grandchildren, Matthew Jenkins, Marleigh
Clark, Amber Lingle, Jordan Roberts, Christopher Robertson,
Mindy Bel, Jackie McMains, and Robert McMains, Jr.; five
great-grandchildren, Kyndra Robertson, Jaidyn Bel, Sergio
DeLeon, Daniel DeLeon, and Dustin Vermillion; as well as
a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in Kentucky and graduated from Taylorsville
High School. She then moved to Louisville where she met
and married Gayle. While he was serving in the military,
the family resided all over the United States. Later, Marlene
made her home in Nevada and Arizona before moving to Grovespring,
Missouri in 1994. Throughout the years she was a devoted
and hardworking homemaker for as long as her health allowed.
Marlene had made her profession of belief in Christ and
followed the Baptist faith.
She made her family the central part of her life and especially
enjoyed her grandchildren. She was a very active person
who liked doing craft projects of all kinds, gardening,
and traveling. She particularly enjoyed being outdoors.
Marlene was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother,
and was a caring neighbor and friend. She will be fondly
remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and
loved her.

Cora May Phillips, daughter of Peter Douglas
and Zoetta Evans Jones, was born March 3, 1912 in Competition,
Missouri. She departed this life Tuesday, December 24, 2002
in her home at the age of ninety years, nine months, and
twenty-one days.
On June 19, 1937, she was united in marriage to Theodore
Phillips and together they shared forty-one years before
his passing on July 3, 1978.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore, her
parents, four brothers and one sister.
Cora is survived by two nieces, Teresa Newton of North Pole,
Alaska and Linda Stroup of Lebanon, Missouri; two nephews,
Edwin Jones of Lebanon, Missouri, and Ralph Jones of Waterloo,
Iowa; a number of great nieces and great nephews; as well
as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born in the Competition area and attended the Fair
Knob School. After she and Theodore were married, they lived
most of their life in Lebanon, Missouri except for four
years in Houston, Missouri. Throughout her life, she was
a devoted homemaker to her husband. Cora was admired for
having a determined purpose in her personal relationships
and persevered for whatever life might have in store for
her.
Cora had made her profession of faith and followed the Church
of God throughout her life.
In her spare time, she enjoyed hunting and fishing. She
loved all kinds of animals, especially taking care of and
raising cats.
Cora was a loving aunt, neighbor and friend. She will be
fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew
and loved her.

Florene Reed, daughter of John and Florence
Hembree, was born October 31, 1913, in Webb City, Missouri.
She departed this life Wednesday, December 18, 2002, in
Windsor Estates Care Center, in Camdenton, Missouri, at
the age of eighty-nine years, one month, and seventeen days.
In 1935, in Camdenton, Missouri, she was united in marriage
to Jake Reed, who preceded her in death in 1966.
She also was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers;
and four sisters.
Florene is survived by two nephews, Kenneth Layman, of Independence,
Missouri, and Thomas Layman, of Wichita, Kansas; a niece,
Lillie Layman Sanders, of Tucson, Arizona; several great-nieces
and great-nephews; and considered her friends and caregivers
at Windsor Estates as part of her family.
She was born in Webb City, Missouri and was raised in Camdenton.
She lived all of her adult years in Camdenton, where she
and Jake made their home for the thirty-one years they shared
together. Besides being a devoted homemaker, Florene also
owned and operated a beauty salon for many years.
Florene had made her profession of belief in Christ and
followed the Baptist faith throughout her life.
She was a member of the Lake of the Ozarks American Legion
Ladies Auxiliary Post # 193 for twenty-six years, and was
a past-president of the organization. She also was a member
of the South Highway Five Camdenton Club, the Business and
Professional Women's Club, the Odd Fellows, and the Rebekah
Lodge of Linn Creek, Missouri. She enjoyed bowling on a
traveling team, and helping with the Dogwood Festival.
Florene will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by
all of her family and many friends.
Services will be held December 21, 2002 at
11:00a.m. in the Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton,
Missouri. Burial will follow in the Dale Blair Memorial

"Wally" Albert Schuette, son of Henry and Clara
Schrieber Schuette, was born August 13, 1911, in Red Bud,
Illinois. He departed this life Sunday, December 1, 2002,
in St. John's Regional Health Center, in Springfield, Missouri,
at the age of ninety-one years, three months, and eighteen
days.
On October 18, 1936, he was united in marriage to June H.
Eckart, and to this union two sons and three daughters were
born.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, June,
on June 20, 1999; and two sisters, Ruth Guebert, and Luella
Raffl.
Wally is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Rev.
Ronald and Sandy Schuette, of Miami, Florida, and Howard
and Chris Schuette, of Decatur, Illinois; three daughters
and sons-in-law, Sylvia and Rev. Alvin Lange, of Jefferson
City, Missouri, Jane and Jon Dimitri, of Valparaiso, Indiana,
and Cindy and Dr. Scott Wilkerson, of Lebanon, Missouri;
fourteen grandsons, David, Aaron and Nathan Schuette, Matthew
Schuette, and his wife, Kathleen, Joel Lange, and his wife,
Sandra, Jonathan Lange, and his wife, Tami, Peter Lange,
and his wife, Roseann, David Lange, and his wife, Katy,
Joshua Lange, Brian Dimitri, and his wife, Liza, Jeffery
and Benjamin Dimitri, and Justin and Ryan Wilkerson; five
granddaughters, Christin Hager, and her husband, Matt, Esther
Armstrong, and her husband, Neal, Bethany Schuette, Christa
Lange, and Allison Hoffman, and her husband, Kevin; thirteen
great-grandchildren, Sarah and Isaac Hager, Jordan, Christian,
Zachary, Elizabeth, Luke, Katherine, Rebecca, Josiah, Marlayna,
Eva, and Benjamin Lange; a sister, Adele Dunkmann, of Red
Bud, Illinois; several nieces and nephews; as well as a
host of other relatives and many friends.
He was born and raised in Red Bud, Illinois, and graduated
from Red Bud High School in the Class of 1930. He then attended
Speedway Business College in St. Louis, Missouri, from 1931
until 1933, and received his degree in accounting. He was
employed as a salesman for the Firestone Tire and Rubber
Company, in 1934, and then was Vice-President and manager
of Hausgas, Inc., in Washington, Missouri for twenty-five
years. He was Vice-President of Petrolane Gas Company in
Long Beach, California for several years, and then served
as President of Pargas, Inc., in Waldorf, Maryland. In 1970,
he moved to Lebanon, Missouri, and worked as Vice-President
of Empire Gas Company. He later worked for several years
at Lowe Industries in Lebanon, until retiring in 1988.
Wally had made his profession of faith in Christ, and was
an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Lebanon.
He had served as elder, a Bible study leader for forty years,
and had served as president of the congregation and as a
member of the board of education.
He had served as president of the Chamber of Commerce in
Washington, and Lebanon, Missouri, and in Waldorf, Maryland.
He was the first President of the Missouri L.P. Gas Association
in Jefferson City, Missouri, and was a Past-President of
the National Association of L.P.G.A., Inc., in Chicago,
Illinois, from whom he received a distinguished service
award. He had also served as President of the Lebanon Bicentennial
Committee, the Lebanon Planning and Zoning Commission, the
Central Ozarks Development Committee, the Lebanon Area Foundation,
the Lebanon Industrial Development Committee, the Lebanon
Ambassadors, the Lebanon Country Club, the Committee of
100 of LaPlata, Maryland, as well as various other committees.
He was a longtime member of the Lebanon Rotary Club and
had been named a Paul Harris Fellow of the Rotary Foundation
of Rotary International. He also was a member of the Lebanon
Country Club and had served as President in 1975 and 1976.
Throughout the years, Wally had received many awards, citations,
and honors for his community leadership and business skills.
Wally was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather,
brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend.
He will be fondly remembered as a loving family man, a dedicated
businessman, and a concerned civic leader, and will be greatly
missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Services were held December 6, 2002 at 12
noon in the Trinity Lutheran Church, Lebanon, Missouri.
Burial followed in the Mount Rose Memorial Park Cemetery.

Nannie Mae Sluss, daughter of Sanford and
Lillie Elzek Muncy, was born May 4, 1912, near White Wood,
West Virginia. She departed this life Thursday, December
19, 2002, in Lake Regional Health Systems, in Osage Beach,
Missouri, at the age of ninety years, seven months, and
fifteen days.
Early in her life she was united in marriage to Kenis Sluss,
and to this union two daughters and five sons were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kenis,
in 1943; a daughter; a son; a brother; and two sisters.
Nannie is survived by a daughter, Nellie Grim, of Kalamazoo,
Michigan; four sons, Forrest Sluss, of Camdenton, Missouri,
James Sluss, and his wife, Jackie, and Willie Sluss, and
his wife, Peggy, all of Linn Creek, Missouri, and Gene Sluss,
and his wife, Barbara, of Kalamazoo, Michigan; thirteen
grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren;
as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born in West Virginia, and was raised in Inez, Kentucky.
After she and Kenis were married, they made their home in
Inez, Kentucky, and lovingly raised their family. In 1964,
Nannie moved to Linn Creek, Missouri to enjoy life on the
Lake, and later moved into Camdenton. Throughout the years,
she was a devoted homemaker to her family.
Nannie had made her profession of belief in Christ and followed
the Pentecostal faith.
In her spare time she enjoyed quilting, and had made many
beautiful quilts, which she shared with her family. She
also enjoyed working in her flower garden. Her family was
very important to her and she centered her life around her
children and grandchildren.
Nannie was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother,
and great-great-grandmother, and was a caring neighbor and
friend. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed
by all those who knew and loved her.

Ray Street, son of Loyd Ray and Virginia Elaine King Street,
was born December 21, 1960, in Whittier, California. He
departed this life Monday, December 2, 2002, in his home,
near Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of forty-one years, eleven
months, and ten days.
On February 9, 1989, he was united in marriage to Tami Lyn
McAllister, and together they shared the last thirteen years.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Hugh William Street;
his maternal grandparents, Clyde and Jessie Richard King;
his paternal grandparents, Hugh and Gertha Nunn Street;
and his grandfather-in-law, Paul Scott.
Bradley is survived by his wife, Tami, of the home; two
daughters, Anya Masters, and her husband, Bobby, of Lebanon,
Missouri, and Jennifer Street, of Lebanon, Missouri; two
sons, Thomas and Matthew Street, both of the home; two grandchildren,
Zachary Lee and Emma Leigh Masters; his parents, Loyd and
Virginia Street, of Lebanon, Missouri; two brothers, Daniel
Street, and his wife, Teresa, of Lebanon, Missouri, and
Edward Street, and his wife, Cathy, of Springfield, Missouri;
three nephews, Elijah and Forrest Street, and Braden McAllister;
his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Wayne and Paula McAllister,
of Lebanon, Missouri; a brother-in-law, Scott McAllister,
and his wife, Stacy, of Ozark, Missouri; his grandmother-in-law,
Louise Scott, of Lebanon, Missouri; several aunts, uncles,
and cousins; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He spent the first part of his life in St. Charles County,
where he attended the Francis Howell School District. His
family then moved home to Laclede County while he was in
the sixth grade, and he attended Joel E. Barber School.
He finished his education at Lebanon High School where he
graduated in the upper percentage of the Class of 1979.
He started work at K-Mart when he was sixteen years old
and worked his way up to Assistant Manager before deciding
to leave and pursue a completely different career. In 1989,
he and Tami were married, and made their home in the Lebanon
area and lovingly raised their family. He was employed by
Indiana Western Express as a truck driver, traveling many
long miles over the road, thereby seeing much of the United
States that he had not been able to see before. After being
on the road for several years and wishing to have more time
to spend with his family, he opted for a job in the office
as a driver recruiter. Bradley truly loved his work at IWX
and made many wonderful lifetime friends.
Bradley was saved as a young boy at Emmanuel Chapel and
was baptized, along with his wife and two sons, in 2000
at the Community Baptist Church.
He loved sports and was very competitive in all things.
He played basketball and, at a young age, became an expert
shot with the bow and arrow, winning many tournaments and
trophies throughout his lifetime. His grandpa taught him
to catch trout in the Susie Hole at Bennett Springs, and
he loved fishing for goggle eye, perch, and bluegill. He
also enjoyed hunting, and spent many hours walking the woods
hunting squirrel, deer, and his special love, turkey. He
passed this love of hunting on to his sons whom both, to
his delight; got deer of there own this hunting season.
He had a very strong sense of responsibility and love toward
his family, always spending time with them and being as
involved in their lives as he possibly could. God truly
touched Bradley's heart and held him close throughout his
battle with cancer.
Bradley was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son,
brother, uncle, and nephew, and was a caring neighbor and
friend. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed
by all those who knew and loved him.
Services were held December 5, 2002 at 11:00a.m.
in the Community Baptist Church, Lebanon, Missouri. Burial
followed in the Dotson Cemetery. Visitation was held December
4, 2002 from 6-8:00 in the Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Lebanon,
Missouri.
A memorial has been established to the Children's
Trust Fund. Contributions may be sent to the Holman-Howe

Trent, Aubrey, 83
Aubrey
Cecil Trent, son of George and Viola Adams Trent, was born
October 13, 1919, near Dustin, Oklahoma. He departed this
life Monday, December 9, 2002, in St. John's Regional Health
Center, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of eighty-three
years, one month, and twenty-six days.
On February 27, 1953, in Las Vegas, Nevada, he was united
in marriage to Aileen LaRue "Sally" Fields, and
together they shared the last forty-nine years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife,
Doris DeGuire, in 1952; two brothers, Euga and Don Trent;
and an infant sister, Maxine Trent.
Aubrey is survived by his loving wife, Sally, of the home;
three sons, William Thornton, and his wife, Carolyn, of
Willard, Missouri, George Curtis Trent, of Phillipsburg,
Missouri, and Lyle "David" Trent, of Atlanta,
Georgia; a daughter, Nancy Trent, of Oxnard, California;
one grandson, Steven James Thornton, and his wife, Angie;
two granddaughters, Lisa Samerdyke, and her husband, Matthew,
and Lori Duncan, and her husband, Michael II; two great-grandsons,
Wesley Thornton, and Michael Duncan III; a sister, Lois
Siegler, of Sapulpa, Oklahoma; several nieces and nephews;
as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born and raised in the Dustin, Oklahoma area and
graduated from Dustin High School in the Class of 1938.
During his early adult years, he worked in the oil fields
in Oklahoma. He served his country faithfully in the United
States Army Air Corps and was part of the Pacific Theater
during World War II. After he and Sally were married, they
made their home in the Phillipsburg community, and Aubrey
worked in the food service department at Fort Leonard Wood,
Missouri for twenty-one years. After retiring in 1981, he
continued to operate his dairy farm.
Aubrey had made his profession of belief in Christ and followed
the Baptist faith throughout the years.
In his spare time he enjoyed being outdoors and working
in his garden. He had a way with words and loved to talk
and tell stories. His family was very important to him and
he especially enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandsons.
Aubrey was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather,
brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend.
He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those
who knew and loved him.
Graveside services will be held December 12,
2002 at 10:00a.m. in the Graceland Cemetery under the direction
of the Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Lebanon, Missouri.
Wood, Mary Ellen, 72
Mary Ellen Wood, daughter of Benjamin Harrison
and Mary Ida Raney Grimes, was born February 8, 1930, near
Mountain Grove, Missouri. She departed this life Wednesday,
December 18, 2002, in Texas County Memorial Hospital, in
Houston, Missouri, at the age of seventy-two years, ten
months, and ten days.
On April 21, 1950, she was united in marriage to Fred Mabon
Wood, Sr., and to this union three sons were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers,
Earl, Ralph, and Claude Grimes.
Mary is survived by her loving husband of fifty-two years,
Fred, of the home; three sons and daughters-in-law, Fred,
Jr. and Janice Wood, of Houston, Missouri, Ricky and Shannan
Wood, of Cataldo, Idaho, and Tommy and Kathy Wood, of St.
Louis, Missouri; three grandchildren, Jared, Kayla, and
Lauren Wood; a brother, Harold Grimes, of Fresno, California;
a sister, Irene Tate, of Mountain Grove, Missouri; a number
of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives
and friends.
She was born and raised north of Mountain Grove, and graduated
from Mountain Grove High School in the Class of 1949. After
she and Fred were married, they moved to the Hartville area
and made their home on their farm, where they lovingly raised
their sons. Besides being a devoted and hardworking homemaker,
Mary also helped Fred in the operation of their farm.
Mary made her profession of faith in Christ early in her
life and was a longtime member of Bethel Chapel Freewill
Baptist Church. She was a true Christian lady and deeply
loved her Lord.
She enjoyed caring for her family and liked collecting knick-knacks,
and dolls. She was an avid reader of the newspaper, and
enjoyed keeping up with current events. Her family was very
important to her and she especially enjoyed her grandchildren.
Mary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and
aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. She will be
fondly remembered and greatly missed, but the wonderful
memories she created for her family and friends will live
on forever.
