For some reason, I had a feeling today that John was gone.
So very, very sorry.
I met John through my husband, Rob. They were best friends in high school.
We even moved to Missouri with him for a short time.
Never was there a person with a bigger, kinder heart.
We haven’t heard from him for many years.
John had so many demons.
I hope he as found peace at last, along with his family.
I will always remember Johns sence of humor, he was so funny and smart. I knew john and debbie when they both arrived at the back door for french class and his twin sister is still my bff today. I love them and will miss john but i have great memories of him. I pray for comfort to his family.
Though I only met John briefly I knew several members of his family and cared deeply for them and was truly blessed to call Carley and McKenna my extended family.I offer my deepest condolences as you walk this new journey in life. May your memories carry you through the difficult days and offer a bright light on that dark day. May God wrap you in his arms and comfort you all!

John was a very kind man. My daughter was with a group of Drury students who went to India with Dr. Roy. John was on that trip too. My daughter broke her toe on the trip and could not walk. John helped her get from plane to plane at airports and took care of her carry-on luggage. I do not know what she would have done if John had not helped her. God bless his family during their loss. He was a very interesting man. He enjoyed life.
Mr. Yettaw always brought a smile to our faces. His kind heart and unique personality will be forever missed.

We have had the pleasure of knowing John about 8 years. We have been fascinated by the accounts of his travels and adventures in various parts of the world. There were so many things he wanted to accomplish, not for fortune or fame but rather out of love and respect for mankind. His heart was soft towards those in need and full of compassion.
Most of all was his love of the gospel, and his love for his family. In visits in our home, temple trips, or on the way to Columbia he often spoke of his family members,
On my last visit with him a few weeks s ago he said he was “going home”
He was ready to meet the Savior.
John was a kind man and a very loving father. I'm so very sorry for your loss. I remember having some very interesting and intelligent conversations with him. He was a good man.
