Coney Crain (Bolivar)

February 22, 1930 - March 2, 2022

Coney B. Crain 92 of Morrisville, MO passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at his home. Coney was born February 22, 1930 in Goodson, MO to Claude and Sylvia (Johnson) Crain. He graduated from Morrisville High School. He married Ruth Aline Christian and the couple had five children. Coney worked as, a cattle buyer and had his own farm where he worked his own cattle, he enjoyed his family, farming, and fishing, and was a well known fixture at the local stock yards. Coney is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Vera Crain of 43 years and together they created a home of love for the family. He is also preceded in death by his son Danny Crain, his brother Marvin Crain, and his sister Genevieve Guinn. He is survived by his four children, Joyce Soldi, Connie (Wally) Thompson, Kelly (Lois) Crain and Jamie Crain-Tice; ten grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren and one great-great grandson; and special friend Judith Garson. The family would also like to thank his care giver, Beverly Gilkey. Graveside services for Coney will be held 12:00 noon Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at the Morrisville Cemetery. Visitation will be held 10:30 AM to 11:30 am Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at the Butler Funeral Home of Bolivar, MO. Memorial contributions may be made to CMH Hospice.
