Daryl O. True, 80, of Imperial, MO passed away Monday, January 31, 2022 at his home. Services for Daryl are under the care and direction of the Butler Funeral Home of Bolivar, MO. Daryl Owensby True, was released from this life on January 31, 2022, while listening to music at home. Born on March 05, 1941 to Roy and Bethel True in Urbana, Missouri, he was the youngest of five siblings. Daryl graduated from Waynesville High School, Missouri in 1959. He joined the Army, eventually serving as a staff sergeant during the Vietnam War. He married Carolyn Alford during this time, with whom he had two children, Danika and Sarah. Daryl held a number of jobs after he left the Army, before moving back to Missouri and founding his own company, True China, where he worked until he retired. On September 18, 1987 Daryl married Macelia, in Webster Grove, Missouri. An avid member of Mensa, Daryl loved learning of all kinds: history, art & photography, stamps, puzzles and reading. Passionate exploration was the cornerstone of his life. Daryl is survived by his sister Avaline Harris; his brother Bertram; his daughters Danika True and wife Tina, Sarah True-Mulligan and husband Frank; and his beloved grandchildren Claire Rose Mulligan & James Francis Mulligan, Caretaker Lori Luke, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Macelia "Macy" Breithaupt True, his parents Roy and Bethel, his brother Roy, and his sister Chrystal Melton. Daryl's funeral will be held on February 9th, 2022, 11 am at the Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar, Missouri with Pastor Gary Richards. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services form 10:00 AM ~ 11:00 AM at the funeral home. A graveside blessing will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery east of Bolivar, with fellowship to follow at Open Hearts UMC. Daryl asked to be remembered as saying, "It is not mine to judge."
