Howard Wayne Miller (Buffalo)

February 4, 1945 - May 2, 2021

Howard Wayne Miller, son of the late Leonard and Nettie (Fullerton) Miller was born on February 4, 1945 in Buffalo, MO and departed this life on May 2, 2021 at his home near Buffalo, MO. At the time of his passing he was 76 years, two months, and 28 days of age. Howard was reared in Buffalo, MO and graduated from Buffalo High School. After graduating, he started Howard Miller Trucking and ran his own business until retiring in the late 1990’s. After his retirement from trucking, Howard went into a partnership with Lyle and Leon Caselman to open the Buffalo Livestock Market in 1999. He was married to Lynette Miller on February 14, 1998. Howard was also a beef cattle farmer and a pioneer for soil and water conservation and rotational grazing in the Dallas County area. He also enjoyed deer hunting, bird hunting, and going out West to hunt mule deer and elk. Howard was preceded in death by his son Rodney Miller; his parents; and his brother, Harold Miller. He is survived by his son Randy Miller of Lebanon, MO; his sister, Louise Marsh of Kansas City, MO; and his sidekick, Lynette Miller. He also leaves other family members and many friends who will all truly miss him. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 in the Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home with Bro. Terry Maddux officiating. Escorts will be Matt Hale, Leon Caselman, Darrel Boyd, Cole Caselman, Larry McCarthy, and Eddie Varner. Honorary escorts will be Ron Varner, Lyle Caselman, Gary Davis, Bob Woods, Jerry Brown, Floyd Sweeney, Ralph Bennet, and Don Woods, Jr. Interment will be in the Maple Lawn Cemetery under the care and direction of the Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home of Buffalo. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Heart to Heart.
