John Edward Laurie (Buffalo)

John Laurie, son of the late Charlie Otis Laurie and Dorothy Susan Laurie, was born on January 16, 1944 and departed this life on March 15, 2022 in Buffalo, Missouri. At the time of his passing he was 78 years of age. John served six years in the United States Army Reserve in Springfield, Missouri and worked as a farm hand for Doyle and Carol Nimmo for over 35 years. John was somewhat of a cowboy enjoying working cattle, hunting and music. He enjoyed collecting firearms and was considered a marksman. John was an active participant in the Annual Celtic Festival held in Buffalo, Missouri and was proud of his heritage. John was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Otis Laurie and Dorothy Susan Laurie, and one brother, Joseph Charles Laurie. John was not a stranger to anyone and will be missed by a host of friends and close neighbors who cared for him. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 18, 2022 in the Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday at the Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Church Grove Cemetery under the care and direction of the Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home of Buffalo.
