John Tinsley (Humansville)

October 8, 1942 - April 8, 2022

On April 8th, 2022 at approximately 8:30 Am, John L. Tinsley passed away at the age of 79. He was born on October 8, 1942 at home on the outskirts of Humansville, MO. He is survived by he wife of 20 years, Karen Tinsley; his son and daughter in law, Shaun and Jennifer (Camiliere) Tinsley, His three step children, Jason Pierce, Brent Pierce and Kristin (Pierce) Rhodes; four grandchildren, Dakota and Cheyanne Rhodes, Tommy and Brianna Tinsley. John was the son of Alvin E. Tinsley and Mary Ruth (Lacy) Tinsley and the brother of Alvin Tinsley and Susie (Tinsley) Jenkins. He grew up on the farm just south of Humansville. Shortly after high school he worked at Hallmark Cards in Kansas City, MO. in 1962 John was drafted into the Army and served one tour of duty in Vietnam. After his two years of service to his country he attended diesel mechanic school. He raced stock cars/ semi pro for two to three years. In the mid to late 1960's he band an 18 plus year career at Montgomery GMC in Springfield, MO. From 1987 to 1991 he drove a truck over the road hauling mostly grain for his great friend Cleo Cunningham. Up until five or six years ago, he was a cattle farmer throughout all of these occupations, aside from his military service. John was married and divorced twice before marrying the love his life Karen Tinsley on July 13th, 2001. He worked very hard all his life and truly enjoyed most of it with very strong values and a great sense of humor. In the last 25 plus years, the highlight of his days were 6:00 AM coffee gatherings in the small cafes' in Humansville. He would set with fellow farmer and friends and joke around and talk of past and current events. Yes, this is true "Good Ole Boy" social media! John Tinsley, with all his wisdom, hard work, dedication, and hillbilly humor and shenanigans will truly be missed by all of us who have had the honor to REALLY know him. A visitation will be held on Monday, April 11, 2022, at Butler Funeral Home in Humansville from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Humansville Cemetery. Although John Tinsley is tone with his chores he'll still be in his overalls. So , Casual attire is welcomed! Services are under the care and direction of Butler Funeral Home of Humansville.
