Patsy Ann Burens (Lebanon)

February 24, 1943 - March 22, 2022

Patsy Ann Burens, daughter of Russell W. and Jackie McNiel Shelby, was born February 24, 1943, in Lebanon, Missouri. She departed this life Tuesday, March 22, 2022, in her home, near Falcon, Missouri, at the age of seventy-nine years, and twenty-six days. On November 23, 1966, she was united in marriage to Walter Andrew Burens, and they shared forty-two years of happiness and memories before Walter's passing on March 15, 2008. She was also preceded in death by two nieces, Beverly Ducker, and Tammy Finley; and a nephew, Jessie Fullington. Patsy is survived by a sister, Jackie Finley, of Falcon, Missouri; a niece, Linda Fullington, of Hartville, Missouri; her nephews, Donnie Finley, of Falcon, Missouri and Bruce Ducker, of Falcon, Missouri; seven great-nieces and great-nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She was raised in the Lynchburg community and graduated from Plato High School. She was pretty much a home body and learned to be a good cook at a very early age. She also enjoyed doing her school work. After she and Walter were married, they made their home in Kansas City, when she was 18 years old. In addition to being a devoted homemaker, Patsy also worked as a receptionist and file clerk for Bartles and Shores Chemical Company for several years. Around 2005, she and Walter moved to the Lebanon area and then after Walter passed away, she moved in with family. She enjoyed going to flea markets with Walter and liked selling and buying antiques, basically becoming antique dealers. She was an avid reader and enjoyed visiting with friends at J & J Café in Competition. Patsy loved her family dearly and they in turn loved her. We celebrate her life and know that she will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
