She departed this life Saturday, April 30, 2022, at Mercy Hospital, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of eighty-two years, eight months, and twelve days. On August 26, 1956, she was united in marriage to Jack Lloyd Ross and to this union two daughters were born. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jack, on April 1, 2016; and a sister, Patty, at birth. Phyllis is survived by two daughters, Linda Weaver, and her husband, David, and Connie Day, and her husband, Gary, all of Lebanon, Missouri; four grandchildren, Jason Weaver, and his wife, Stephanie, Nathan Weaver, Alissa Crigger, and her husband, Jerod, and Jonathan Day, and his wife, Kyla; six great-grandchildren, Logan and Lucas Weaver, Drew Crigger, Maelyn, Silas, and Emmett Day; a brother, Lyle “Billy” Rogers, of Lebanon, Missouri; two sisters, Beverly Kenney, and Patsy Rouse, and her husband, Donnie, all of Vinton, Iowa; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She was born and raised in Brandon, Iowa, where she met and married Jack, the love of her life. In the early 1960’s, Jack and Phyllis moved to Lebanon, Missouri where they made their home and lovingly raised their daughters. She was a devoted housewife and put others first before her own needs. Phyllis was baptized on November 15, 1957, and was a faithful member of Washington Christian Church for sixty-four years. Over the years she hosted many preachers, singing groups, worked in Vacation Bible School, and served in many other areas where she was needed. She loved and enjoyed sewing, and made clothes for her daughters when they were growing up. Later in years, she made quilts and crafts to sell. She enjoyed antiquing, shopping, and working in the garden with her flowers. She had a candy basket, full of candy, that her grandchildren and great-grandchildren enjoyed and occasionally the adults. She was a good cook and hostess. Many people enjoyed her cooking and hospitality over the years. Her family was extremely dear to her and she especially enjoyed time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She patterned her life after 1 Peter 3:3-4, “And let not your adornment be merely external-braiding the hair, and wearing gold jewelry, or putting on dresses; but let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the imperishable quality of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is precious in the sight of God”. Phyllis was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will treasure the wonderful memories they made with her during her eighty-two years with us. We eagerly await our joyous reunion with our Lord and her. A memorial has been established for Shiloh Christian Children's Home and contributions can be made through the Funeral Home.
