Bette was such a warm and special lady and the world will miss her caring spirit and her bright light. Lynn, Sue & Mark - During this difficult time in the loss of your mother, may you all find comfort and strength in being together. It was an absolute honor to have gotten to know Ms Bette these last several years. She was such an inspiration and blessing. I recall fondly so many of our trips to tea houses. One I will remember always is when she was part of a trick (played on me) and quietly passed folded pieces of tin foil to the others at a tea in Winston Salem. Her 94th birthday is another fond memory, Several of us were able to be with her to celebrate. It was a wonderful visit. Three of us (& Lynn) even performed "I'm A Little Teapot" which brought her lots of laughter. But I'm not sure how much she enjoyed the crazy "ride" on her walker at our Riverboat Cruise the next day. She was one classy and remarkable woman. I will greatly miss her.
I know so many others will too.
