Hensley, Everett Dale, 79 Everett Dale Hensley, son of Everett H. and Dessie Agnes Smith Hensley, was born August 19, 1927, near Hartville, in Wright County, Missouri. He departed this life, surrounded by his family, Tuesday, May 1, 2007, in his home, in Seymour, Missouri, at the age of seventy-nine years, eight months, and twelve days. On November 4, 1965, in Ash Grove, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Phyllis Joan Pedersen, and together they shared the last forty-one years. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Donnie Lee Hensley; a sister-in-law, Lola Hensley; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Roy and Geneva Pedersen. Dale is survived by his loving wife, Phyllis, of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jeffery and Janet Hensley, and Stephen and Joetta Hensley, all of Marshfield, MO; his grandchildren, Matthew, Dara, and Noah Hensley, Erin Tackett and Jason Marks, Derek Tackkett, and Elizabeth Sharp; his great-grandchildren, Brenton Smith, Landon Marks and Aaliyah Sharp; his special adopted grandchildren, Jeremy and Bethany Bradshaw, and Braden Branstetter; a stepdaughter, Mary Lou Beard, and her husband, Wayne, of Seymour, Missouri; four brothers, Glenn Hensley and Georgia Fraley, of Ozark, Missouri, Jim Hensley, and his wife, Judy, of Napa, California, Morris Hensley, and his wife, Beverly, of Madison Heights, Michigan, and Bob Hensley, and his wife, Pam, of Fordland, Missouri; a sister, Beth Robertson, and her husband, Junior, of Springfield, Missouri; a sister-in-law, Linda Hensley, of Hartville, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Trina Branstetter; his extended family, Herbert Pedersen, and his wife, Barbara, of Duncanville, Texas, Gerald Pedersen, and his wife, Mary, Linda Cravens, and her husband, Tom, and Ronnie Pedersen, all of Hartville, Missouri, Garry Pedersen, and his wife, Julia, of Springfield, Missouri, Brenda Bradshaw, and her husband, Kenny, of Seymour, Missouri, and Debbie Rost, and her husband, Wayne; of Marshfield, Missouri; as well as a host of other relatives and many friends. He was born and raised in the Hartville community, and then served his country faithfully in the United States Army during World War II. He made his home in Mountain Grove, Missouri for several years while he owned and operated Tri County Gas. He then moved back to Hartville and drove a truck for the Hensley Lumber Company. After he and Phyllis were married, they owned and operated Hensley Fina (Gulf) Service and Hensley Tire and Auto Supply for several years. They sold their businesses and on April 1, 1976, they began working for Bogart-Bergman-Miller Funeral Home in Hartville. They continued in their careers as funeral directors and moved to Seymour in 1980, to work with the Bergman-Miller Funeral Home, and then stayed on when it became Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Dale eventually retired in 2006, when his health began to fail. Dale made his profession of faith in Christ, was saved and baptized early in his life. He was a member of the Cope Freewill Baptist Church near Hartville, and had attended the Diggins Baptist Church for as long as his health allowed. He was a member of the Wilson Alexander American Legion Post #306 and the I.O.O.F. Lodge #226 of Hartville. Dale was an avid gardener and enjoyed growing enough vegetables to share with his family and friends each year. He also liked taking care of the lawn and fishing in his spare time, and was excellent at water skiing. His family was very important to him and he especially enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dale was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle and was a caring neighbor and friend. He will be fondly remembered as a loving family man, a devoted businessman, and a good friend to all those who knew him. Services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday, May 4, 2007, in the Holman-Howe Chapel, Seymour. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 5, 2007, in the Seymour Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home at their convenience. Services are under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Seymour, Missouri. Memorials to Community Hospices of America may be made through the funeral home.
