Adam Quennoz (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Adam Christopher Quennoz, 43, of Halfway, passed away February 2, 2016 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield surrounded by his family, as a result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident on August 31, 2015.
Adam was born June 30, 1972 at Mather Air Force Base, Rancho Cordova, California. He was the fourth son of James and Natalie Quennoz. Soon after Adam’s birth he and Natalie moved to Flemington Missouri to join the rest of the family.
On May 11, 1980 Adam took his First Communion at Sacred Heart Church in Bolivar Missouri, where he has remained a parishioner. He was an altar server and later served on the Parish Council. Adam was also an active member of the Knights of Columbus for several years.
Adam attended Bolivar High School, where he enjoyed playing basketball and participating in track. As a Senior Adam broke the Bolivar High School high jump record, which had been held by his brother, Matthew, for twelve years. Adam graduated from high school in 1990 and joined the Army National Guard shortly afterwards. He was a member of the Guard for several years.
On June 26, 1993 Adam married his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Lynn Michelle Breshears. To this union was born one child, Miranda Lynn Quennoz on March 31, 2004. Miranda was the apple of her daddy’s eye. They spent many hours together playing basketball, softball and bike riding. Adam was so very proud of Miranda and her athletic accomplishments in softball and basketball. He had been teaching Miranda the art of airbrushing and flying radio controlled airplanes. Adam was also involved with coaching Miranda’s softball teams for several years.
Adam had many talents and gifts. At the time of his accident he had just finished airbrushing the Halfway softball home team dugout. He had planned to start work on the visitor’s softball dugout the week of his accident.
Another of Adam’s hobbies was flying Radio Controlled airplanes and gliders. Adam was instrumental in establishing the Bolivar Sports Flyers, serving many years as President and holding other offices. He was also a member of the Missouri Valley Soaring Association.
Adam was employed at Tuthill in Springfield, Missouri for twenty years. In 2012 Adam had the honor of starting a new chapter of his career at Arrowhead Industries in Halfway. Adam loved his time at Arrowhead and the family of co-workers he formed there. His Arrowhead family has been a huge support to the Quennoz family since his accident. They have given their time to sit with Adam so Lynn could attend their daughter’s ballgames as well as organizing and hosting the Fly For Adam Benefit.
Adam was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Victor and Julie Quennoz; his maternal grandparents, Edward and Anette Holak; Lynn’s grandparents, Glen and Pat Breshears; and his beloved niece Kyla Quennoz.
