Adrian L. Breshears (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Adrian L. Breshears, age 83, of Blue Springs, Missouri, passed away on Thursday night, February 4, 2016, in Independence, Missouri.
He was born on December 25, 1932, in Goodson, Missouri to Jack and Lois (Brooks) Breshears.
Adrian married Irene Needham on June 27, 1953, in Cliquot, Missouri, by Adrian’s brother, Nevin. To this union six children were born.
In 1953 Adrian joined the Army and began his service at Ft. Leonard Wood. He was then stationed in Germany. He was honorably discharged in 1955. After a short time with General Motors, he began his career as a life insurance salesman.
In 1956 he began working with the National Life and Accident Insurance Company in Nashville, Tennessee. He began as an agent and was promoted to regional manager for the Independence, Missouri area. Adrian was a very successful agent, eventually opening his own independent agency in 1982. He retired at the age of 78.
Adrian was a lifelong member of the Goodson Missionary Baptist Church. He was involved with the Lions Club for many years as well as his children's Blue Springs softball and baseball organizations. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who will be greatly missed.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Lois; four sisters and four brothers.
He is survived by his wife, Irene, of the home; Daughter, Gwendolyn Brunelli, and husband Ted, of Mebane, North Carolina; Daughter, Adrianna Breshears of Grain Valley, Missouri; Daughter, Melody Bromley and husband Tom Casey, of Bates City, Missouri; Son, Al Monty Breshears; Daughter, Mitzi Breshears, of Blue Springs, Missouri; Daughter, Monica Breshears, of Independence, Missouri; grandchildren, Sierra Richmond, Craig Monks, Michelle Bromley, Ben Laster, Derrick Breshears, Ryan Hall, Jeff Bromley, and Alex Hall; 15 great grandchildren; brothers R.T. Breshears, Don Breshears and Jerry Breshears; well as many other family members and friends.
