Aimee Lynn Hays (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Aimee Lynn (Hicks) Hays, a beloved mother and teacher, passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri at the age of fifty years, seven months and twenty days. She was born in Torrence, California on August 26, 1974 to Albert Oliver and Eloise “Sue” Bartley Hicks.
She was raised in Torrence and graduated from West Torrence High School in the class of 1992. She continued her education at California State University, Fullerton where she studied English and was a member of the Gamma Phi Beta Sorority.
In 1998, she moved to Missouri and began her teaching career as a High School English teacher at Hermitage High School. In 2004, Aimee earned her Master’s degree in Secondary Administration from William Woods University in Fulton, Missouri.
Aimee was a devoted educator, but above all was the proud mother of Brady, Avery and Libbee.
She worked with Lebanon R-3 School system beginning in 2000, teaching Honors High School Freshman English until May of 2015, spending several years as the head of the English department. Aimee then served as the Literacy Specialist at Lebanon High School from 2014 to the present. She also was a member of the Missouri Association of Student Councils Department. Aimee was a highly respected instructor and took pride in what she did. The students were her top priority and she was deeply devoted to them.
Aimee is preceded in death by her father, Albert Hicks.
She is survived by her son, Brady Hays; two daughters, Avery Hays and Libbee Hays; their father, Monty Hays; her mother, Sue Hicks of Lebanon, Missouri; a sister, Traci Hicks-Hartenstein; a brother, Kevin Hicks; and four nephews, Davis Hicks, Stephen Hicks, Williams Hartenstein and Matthew Hartenstein; and her best friend, Lisa Anthony.
Aimee loved reading and traveling. Her years in education allowed her to see many corners of the world and truly experience life to the fullest. She was always ready for a new adventure. Aimee also kept several animals and enjoyed spending time with them.
Her warmth, kindness, and unwavering generosity leave an indelible mark on the lives of all who knew her. Her absence will be deeply felt by her family, friends, educators, and the community whose life she touched.
Funeral service for Aimee Lynn Hays will be Tuesday, April 22 at 10 a.m. at Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Visitation will be Monday, April 21 from 4 - 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
