Aimee "Bernice" McBride (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Aimee Bernice McBride came into this world on April 6, 1938, and entered Heavens Gates on December 26, 2023. She was the only child of Amos Clyde and Mary Velma (Strickland) Cady. Bernice married Billy Joe (Cowboy) McBride on March 18, 1956. To this union four children were born, JoNeita, Patty, Paul and Melissa.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 37 years, one daughter, Melissa, one son, Paul and one son-in-law, Dave Schwinck.
Bernice worked many jobs in her lifetime, housekeeper, prep cook, taking care of elderly friends and working at SBU for 20 plus years. She worked for CMH for a short time helping the the Health Fairs. She was funny, sweet and sometimes onery. But she was loved by all.
She is survived by her children, JoNeita (Kenny) Fleeman and Patty Schwinck; grandkids, Kendra (Jason) Mauck, Brock (Amy) McBride), Kody (Jennifer) Fleeman, Jessica McBride, Jared McBride and Michael McBride; several great-grandkids and many friends and loved ones.
They said at Parkview Nursing Facility “That she always had a twinkle in her eye and a spring in her step.”
Graveside services will be held under the direction of Butler Funeral Home on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. in Greenwood Cemetery with Reverend Jason Mauck officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons, Jared McBride, Brock McBride, Michael McBride and Kody Fleeman.
