Albert W. Brock (Buffalo)'s Obituary
Albert W. Brock, 92, received his crown of glory on March 8, 2025, surrounded by family. Born July 17, 1932, in Pleasant Hope MO, he lived most of his life in the Springfield area. He graduated from Central High School in Springfield, MO and attended Columbia College. Albert served in the Air Force from 1952-56 during the Korean War.
He married Marie Brock in 1957 and raised three daughters until her passing in 1989.
In 1992 he married Wanda Maddux of Buffalo and called Buffalo home until his passing.
He was preceded in death by this parents, Edgar and Winnie Brock; his wife, Marie; and brother-In-law, Bill Ashby. He Is survived by his wife, Wanda Maddux; daughters, Cindy (Fritz) Whitmer, Annie (Nolan) Hardison and Julie (Rick) Tettenhorst; two grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; John (Brigette) Maddux and seven step-grandchildren; and siblings, Edwina Ashby, Edgar (Jane) Brock, Linda (EW) Woolley, Jane (Chuck) Woolley, and many nieces and nephews.
After retirement from SMS, Albert enjoyed gardening, Cardinal baseball, fixing up old homes, and maintaining a few rentals. He was a member of the 1st Christian Church in Buffalo where he enjoyed attending services and singing the old hymns he grew up with. His youngest daughter had the honor of attending church with Albert and Wanda over the last few years.
He was a quiet, gentle man of few words but when he did offer advice or council it was delivered as a loving suggestion. Albert had a dry wit about him and could slide a zinger in when least expected. He also had an amazing flair for cooking and baking. During his later days when others would cook for him, he could easily identify what ingredient needed to be added to make the dish perfect.
He enjoyed his annual trips to Florida and many questionable road trips with his daughters. He made a couple of trips out west and enjoyed that time with Wanda and friends.
Over the last couple of years he enjoyed monthly family lunches, including a couple of picnics to Bennett Springs.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the 1st Christian Church of Buffalo or Grand Oaks Mission in Springfield, MO.
Funeral service is scheduled for 11 am on Friday, March 14, 2025, at Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home, Buffalo, with Pastor Larry Starbuck officiating. Visitation will be held the hour prior. Albert will be laid to rest in Pleasant Hope Cemetery, Pleasant Hope, Missouri.
