Albert G. Reagan's Obituary
Albert Gerrard Reagan, son of James and Marie Fratus Reagan, was born April 5, 1924, in Boston, Massachusetts. He departed this life Friday, December 15, 2006, in Harry S. Truman Veterans Medical Center, in Columbia, Missouri, at the age of eighty-two years, eight months, and ten days. On July 28, 1947, he was united in marriage to Theresa Rose Langner, and to this union four daughters and three sons were born. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Theresa, on June 19, 2004; four brothers; and two sisters. Albert is survived by four daughters, Patricia Swatzell, and her husband, John, of Madisonville, Tennessee, Jean Schubert, and her husband, Dave, of California, Missouri, Diana Reagan, and her fiancé, Vernon Keilholz, of Frankenstein, Missouri, and Barbara Mangels, and her husband, Ron, of Lake Ozark, Missouri; three sons, Ronald Reagan, and his wife, Eva, of Eldon, Missouri, William Reagan, and his wife, Mary, of Lake Ozark, Missouri, and Robert Reagan, and his wife, Kris, of Roanoke, Virginia; thirteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; a sister, Carol Plummer, of Bedford, Massachusetts; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. He was born and raised in Massachusetts. He then served his country faithfully in the United States Navy during World War II. While serving in the Navy, he met and married Theresa and they first made their home in Massachusetts. They moved to Missouri, where they lived in Plattsburg, and Albert worked as a fire inspector for Trans World Airlines for fourteen years and served as Clinton County Sheriff for a time. They then made their home in Camdenton and Eldon before moving to Lebanon and finding a home in the Bennett Springs community. Throughout the years, Albert worked at various different jobs including owning a service station and being a mechanic. Later, he was employed as a mechanic for a bus company and also occasionally drove for them. Albert was a member of St. Francis DeSales Catholic Church in Lebanon, and had built the Stations of the Cross at the Bennett Springs Outdoor Chapel. He was always friendly and never met a stranger. He was very mechanically inclined and liked collecting “hit and miss engines”. He enjoyed traveling and especially going to Florida in the motor home for the winter. He liked Big Band Music, watching baseball and NASCAR, and specially his pet Maltese, “Susie”. He also enjoyed having family gatherings. Albert was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will treasure the memories he made for his family and friends. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 19, 2006, in St. Francis DeSales Catholic Church. Burial will be in Mount Rose Memorial Park Veterans' Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday evening from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon, Missouri. Memorials to St. John's Hospice may be made through the funeral home.
