Albert Johnston's Obituary
Albert Ross Johnston, Sr., son of William H. Johnston, Sr. and Irene Mae Reyburn Johnston, was born July 21, 1941, in Lafayette, Indiana. He departed this life Saturday, September 24, 2011, in St. John?s Hospital in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of seventy years, two months, and three days. On July 5, 1963, he was united in marriage to Sandra Kay Feaster, and to this union two daughters and one son were born. His parents preceded him in death. Albert is survived by his loving wife of forty-eight years, Sandra, of the home; a son, Albert R. Johnston, Jr., and his wife, Danielle, of North Fort Myers, Florida; two daughters, Leah Kirby, and her husband, Gregory, of Cape Coral, Florida, and Rebecca Johnston, of the State of Florida; six grandchildren, Amber, Michael, Bradley, Benjamin, Savannah, and Troy; a great-granddaughter, Elizabeth; a brother, William Johnston, of Homer, Alaska; three sisters, Florence McFarland, Ruth Waugh, both of Lafayette, Indiana, and Judy Munger, of Hudson, Florida; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. He was born and raised in Lafayette, Indiana, and graduated from Battleground High School. He then moved to Alaska for a short time. In 1968, he and Sandra moved to Falcon, Missouri, for several years, and Albert worked for Appleby Boat Company and MODOT. The family then moved to Florida, where Albert worked for Waste Management Company. Albert and Sandra returned to Falcon, Missouri, in 2007. Albert had professed his faith in Christ and was a member of the Lynchburg Baptist Church, in Lynchburg, Missouri, since 1977. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was a very outgoing person who never met a stranger. His family was very important to him and he especially enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchild. Albert was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and know that he will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
