Alberta Armfield (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Alberta Armfield, age 87, of Pleasant Hope, Missouri, passed away Monday, July 16, 2018, at her home, in Pleasant Hope.
Alberta Mae Staffen was born on August 10, 1930 to Frank and Lola Staffen. She is preceded in death by her father Frank Staffen, mother Lola, brother Arcie and beloved husband Don Armfield. She is survived by her oldest son Larry Armfield and wife Angie, son Gale Armfield and wife Marcia, daughter Kathy Phelan and husband Tom, 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
As a child she was baptized at the Rock Praire Church and remained strong in her faith throughout her life. She went to Southwest Missouri State College and graduated with a degree in teaching and moved to Eunice, Missouri for her first teaching job. She met her husband Don at the local grocery/post office in Eunice and they married on February 14th, 1954. They moved to St. Louis, Missouri and started their family. She loved her grandchildren and great grand children and cherished spending time with them.
Our mother loved gardening, reading, traveling, sewing, projects of any kind, and cooking. If you came to Alberta’s house she fed you and there was always plenty of food to go around. She texted all us, many of us daily and at 86 got an iPad and became active on FaceBook. She was our rock, we will miss her and her zest for continued learning and life.
Burial will be in the Bethel Cemetery in Summersville,Mo.
