Alberta May Simpson (Seymour)'s Obituary
Alberta ‘Bert’ May Simpson was born in Redding, Massachusetts, on April 10, 1943, to Charles and Laura Vail. She was a devoted wife, mother, loving grandmother and great-grandma, and caring friend. She departed this life on March 14, 2021, in her rural Fordland, Missouri, home at the age of 77.
Bert was raised in Redding until she graduated high school and moved out west to Colorado where she worked as a customer service representative for AT&T and met her future husband Dennis Gene Simpson. They were married June 10, 1974. After retiring from AT&T, she worked for Coors Brewing Company continuing to work in customer service. In 2002, Dennis and Bert moved to Missouri to enjoy retirement. She had a great love of animals, enjoyed going horseback riding, drawing, cooking for family and friends, crocheting, and worshipping with her church family at Kingdom Hall in Springfield, Missouri.
Bert was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, and a brother.
She is survived by her devoted husband Dennis, with whom she shared nearly 47 blessed years; three sons, Richard Doell and wife Natalie of Springfield, Charles Doell and wife Dawn who live near Salt Lake City, Utah, and Brad Simpson and wife Cathy of Seymour, Missouri; grandkids, Rashel (Darren) Sparkman, Miranda Simpson, Andrew Simpson, Destiny Doell, Charlene Doell, Trevor Doell, Steven Doell, Virginia Campbell, Draven Campbell, and Hunter Campbell; and two great-grandkids, Carter and Harlow Sparkman.
We celebrate her life and the many lives she influenced during her life. We will miss her dearly, but will always cherish the many wonderful memories we had together.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Lion's Club "Leader Dogs for the Blind" program and left at the funeral home.
