Aldwin De Remus' Obituary
Aldwin Emerson DeRemus, son of Frank Fox and Emma Cordelia Hendricks DeRemus, was born January 4, 1917, in Kansas City, Missouri. He departed this life Monday, April 12, 2010, in Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach, Missouri, at the age of ninety-three years, three months and eight days. He was united in marriage to Delores Hellar and to this union, two sons were born. After her passing, he was later married to Mary Demetria Gabriel and together they shared over thirty years of marriage. He was preceded in death by his wife, Delores; his parents and a step-daughter, Diane Stitt. Survivors include his wife, Mary DeRemus of Osage Beach, Missouri; two sons, Larry DeRemus and wife Claudine of Palm Harbor, Florida, and Frank DeRemus of Drexel, Missouri; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a step-son, Richard Venie of Kansas City, Kansas; and other relatives and many friends. Al was raised in the Kansas City area. He served his country proudly in the United States Army during World War II. After being honorably discharged, he worked as a union paint contractor and interior decorator. He was a member of the Shrine of St. Patrick Catholic Church and a past member of the Heart of America Boat Club. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and the lake. He was also an avid reader. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and step-father and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will treasure the memories he created for his family and friends. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday April 15, 2010 at the Shrine of St. Patrick in Laurie, Missouri. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. until time of service at the church under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home Camdenton, Missouri. Return to top
