Alfred H Hammons (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Alfred Hammons, age 75, of Dunnegan, Missouri, departed this life on Thursday morning, January 31, 2013 at Lake Stockton Healthcare Facility in Stockton, Missouri.
Alfred Harrison Hammons was born on January 7, 1938 in Dunnegan, the son of Melvin Hammons and Helen (Lightfoot) Hammons.
He graduated from Stockton High School in 1956.
On June 16, 1960 Alfred was united in marriage to Willhemina Lee Masters at the South Street Christian Church in Springfield, Missouri. To this union was born two children; Alfred Jr. and Stephanie Hammons.
Following graduation he attended Mortuary School at the Dallas Institute in Dallas, Texas in 1961. He then owned and operated Hammons Grocery Store in Stockton from 1962-1966. Alfred attended the University of Missouri School of Pharmacy from 1966-1967, with a major in history and a minor in biology.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers; Eugene Hammons and Harry Robert Hammons.
Alfred is survived by his wife; Willhemina Lee Hammons of the home, one son; Alfred Harrison Hammons, Jr. and his wife Susan of Topeka, Kansas, one daughter; Stephanie Pepper and her husband Bryce of Olathe, Kansas, 5 grandchildren; Kaitlyn Hammons, Joshua Hammons, Benjamin Pepper, Samuel Pepper and Andrew Pepper.
