Alfred Jobe's Obituary
Jobe, Alfred "Ed", of O’Fallon, Missouri, formerly of Hartville, Missouri, died on Thursday, January 12, 2012 at the age of 79. Dearest husband of Elsa Jobe; dear son of the late Roosevelt and Ethel Jobe; devoted father of Donnie (Diane) Jobe; beloved Opa of Mitchell, Ethan and Lindsey Jobe; dear brother of Toni (Vernon) Woodard and Ted (Jeannie) Jobe. He is preceded in death by his brother, Donnie Dale, son, Leon Edward and step-mother, Edna Faye.
Ed was born in Boonville, Arkansas, and raised in Elk City, Oklahoma. In 1950, Ed entered the Army, serving in the Korean War and two tours in Vietnam. He met his wife, Elsa, while stationed in Germany, marrying in 1964. After 21 years of service, Ed retired from the Army. In 1981, Ed and his family moved to Hartville, Missouri, where he and Elsa raised their sons, Donnie and Leon. After 30 years of residence in Hartville, Ed and Elsa moved to O’Fallon, Missouri, in 2011 to be closer to family. Ed especially loved the time he could spend with his grandkids.
Visitation will be held Saturday, January 21, 2012 at 10:00 AM, Holman Howe Funeral Home, 280 North Main, Hartville, Missouri 65667. Following will be a Committal Service at 11:30 AM, Steele Memorial Cemetery, Hartville, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
