She was born and raised in Kansas, and received her education there. After she and Marvin were married, they made their home in Kansas for a number of years, before moving to Ozark, Missouri in 1962. In addition to being a devoted homemaker to her husband and family, Marie also worked at Fasco Industries for a few years. In 1972, the family moved to Lebanon, Missouri, and Marie helped her husband in the operation of their cattle farm. Marie had professed her faith in Christ and was a longtime active member of Lebanon First Assembly of God. She had taught Sunday school for over thirty years, and was dedicated to the youth in the church. In her spare time she enjoyed being outdoors where she liked fishing, raising cattle and working on the farm. She and Marvin always planted a large garden each year, and she enjoyed canning their homegrown produce. Her family was very dear to her, and she especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
