Alice Brannan (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Alice Linnea Brannan, daughter of Nels Oscar and Martha Lindquist Ahlstron, was born January 10, 1928, in San Diego, California. She departed this life Wednesday, September 23, 2020, in Cedarhurst of Lebanon, at the age of ninety-two years, eight months, and thirteen days.
On October 14, 1957, she was united in marriage to Ernest Wade Brannan, and to this union one daughter was born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ernest, on February 15, 2010; and her twin sister, Marie Fishburn.
Alice is survived by a daughter, Sharon Owens, and her husband, James, of Camdenton, Missouri; a grandson, Alexander Owens, of Waipahu, Hawaii; a brother-in-law, Gene Brannan, and his wife, Barbara, of Lawton, Oklahoma; a sister-in-law, Pearl Wait of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in San Diego, California, where her family grew avocados, lemons and limes for several years. She then moved with her family to Creswell, Oregon where she graduated from high school before returning to California. She worked during the war and then once she and Ernest were married, she became a devoted and supportive military wife and mother. The family lived in various places through the years, but eventually made their home in Missouri.
She loved baseball, and college football and basketball. She enjoyed decorating and doing landscape. She had a sharp wit and loved to laugh. Her family was very dear to her and she especially enjoyed spending time with them.
Alice was a loving mother, grandmother, sister-in-law, aunt, and was a caring friend. We celebrate her life and know that she will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
