Alice M. Carvel (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Alice Mae Carvel, daughter of William H. and Sylvia Viola Decker Lewis, was born April 18, 1927, near Lebanon, Missouri. She departed this life Saturday, December 27, 2014, in Christian Health and Rehabilitation Center North, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of eighty-seven years, eight months, and nine days.
On December 18, 1948, she was united in marriage to James Wilson Carvel and to this union two sons were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James, on April 19, 1993; a son, Ronald Carvel; and a brother, William Ray Lewis.
Alice is survived by a son, Jim Carvel, and his wife, Gen, of Ozark, Missouri; three grandchildren, Alese, Jaron, and Hannah; a brother, Ed Lewis, and his wife, Sally, of Lebanon, Missouri; a sister, Della Franklin, and her husband, John, of Lebanon, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in the Lebanon, Missouri area. After she and James were married, they made their home in the Lebanon community, and lovingly raised their sons. In addition to being a devoted homemaker to her husband and family, Alice also worked at Independent Stave Company for several years.
In her spare time she enjoyed quilting, cooking and caring for her home. Her family was very important to her and she especially enjoyed keeping up with her family’s activities, and having time with her grandchildren .
Alice was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them during her eighty-seven years.
Memorial donations may be made to the Lebanon Humane Society and left at the funeral home.
