Alice G. Dilley (Buffalo)'s Obituary
Alice Geraldine Dilley, daughter of the late Roy Clinton and Elizabeth (White) Kingery was born on March 10, 1941 in Raccoon Island, Missouri and departed this life on Tuesday, January 1, 2019 at her home in Buffalo, Missouri. At the time of her passing she was 77 years, 9 months, and 20 days of age.
Alice was reared in southeast Missouri near Poplar Bluff. She attended grade school at Meramec Grade School in 1955 and Southwest High School in 1959. She went to Nursing School at Barnes Hospital School of Nursing and graduated in 1974 with her RN degree. She worked at Barnes Jewish Hospital, Red Bud Hospital, and West Frankfort Hospital. She volunteered at ESDA in West Frankfort, IL, the American Red Cross in West Frankfort, IL, and at the Colonial Springs Care Center in Buffalo, MO for Bingo. She was a member of the Chief Corner Stone Church in Buffalo, MO where she enjoyed playing the tambourine. She also enjoyed crocheting, quilting, and watching sports.
Alice was preceded in death by her husband Nathaniel Dilley; her parents; and one sister, Joyce Kingery Holter. She is survived by two sons, Mark & wife Rita of St. Charles, MO and Michael & wife Melissa of O’Fallon, MO; two daughters, Patty & husband Chip of Halfway, MO and Debbie & husband Rex of Hazelwood, MO; four brothers, Earl Wallenbrock, Jr., James Wallenbrock of DeSota, Mo, Robert Wallenbrock of DeSota, MO, and Sonny Kingery of Poplar Bluff, MO; four sisters, Shirley Wallenbrock, Carol Wallenbrock, Mary Kinger Borders of Poplar Bluff, MO, and Joyce Kingery Holter; her grandchildren, Amy, Finis & wife Katrina, Vanessa & husband Don, Jessica & husband Josh, Mark David, Stephanie, Nathaniel, and Evan; and her great-grandchildren, Faith, Elliana, Anneliese, and Caleb. She also leaves other family members and many friends who will all truly miss her.
Memorial services will be held from 1:00-2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at the Cantlon Otterness & Viets Funeral Chapel with Pastor Larry Davidson officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Saturday at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Lung Association.
