Annalee Hammons
Ruby and family. This is Anna Lee (Stokes) Hammons. I want to share a few of my thoughts of having Pauline in my life when I was very young. She was like a second mom to me and my sister and brothers. She lived in our home when mom & daddy were gone on the trucks up north . It was plain to see that she loved us and felt like one of our family. We had fun together. I know she would say it wasn't all fun and games though. I know we were a handful most of the time. We remained good friends beyond those times too. Mom and her were best of friends until over time every one moved miles apart. James and I were traveling through Oklahoma City on our way to visit his sister Patsy. We stopped and spent the night with Pauline. We stayed up late talking and looking at pictures of those earlier days. My she must have followed me around with a camera. She has more pictures of me than my mom ever had. I was so glad to see you and your mom a couple of years ago when you brought her to Warrensburg to see mom.
I also enjoyed knowing all of the Haskell's too. I think some of the other girls babysat with us some too. And of course I knew the boys from school. Kids growing up today will never have good childhood memories like we have. and Ruby I remember you from when you were a baby too. Your mom worked hard and was always a good mother to you.
I am so sorry I can not come to the service. I am caring for my 95 year old Uncle. He fell and broke his ankle 3 wks ago and cannot put any weight on it. I cannot be away from him very long.
My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. With sympathy
Love Anna Lee
