Alice Rayl Schultz (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Alice G. Rayl Schultz was born December 29, 1946, in Waynesville, Missouri to Lee R. and Geneva M. Smith Rayl, and entered her eternal home in Heaven on Monday, April 6, 2026.
She grew up in Waynesville and later moved to Miami and Hollywood, Florida, before returning to Lebanon, Missouri. She learned the values of faith, family, and hard work that guided her throughout her life.
She married William E. Schultz on July 23, 2014 and
enjoyed ten wonderful years of marriage before his passing on August 30. 2024.
She was a member of Heritage Baptist Church in Lebanon and continued to watch the livestream every week after she was no longer able to attend. She “loved” Kevin’s preaching at Heritage. She enjoyed her morning devotions in the sunroom.
Alice served the students of the Lebanon R-3 school district for thirty-nine years, getting up early every day to ensure they had hot meals when they arrived at school. She also had a great working relationship with those she worked with. She touched countless young lives with patience, encouragement, and kindness.
She was a great encourager and listener, known for her quick wittedness and generous spirit. Alice was a very giving person and would help anyone in need she could and never wanted to take any credit for it, always putting others above herself.
She enjoyed reading, cooking and was very talented at cake decorating. She also enjoyed gardening, planting flowers, bird watching, and visiting with family and friends in her home.
She was a young girl when she got saved and was baptized in the river.
Her family was very important to her, and she was known for her homemade meals, sharing with anyone that came to gather around her table. There was always a warmth that made everyone feel welcome.
One of the highlights of her life was “Friday Night Suppers” hosted by her parents and was open to all that wanted to come. After supper, some of their activities included singing, playing cards, and visiting.
Alice is survived by her son, Robert L Rodden (Bobby) Jr. of Gainesville, Georgia; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; her sister Julie Rayl-Gilstrap and her husband Stuart of Lebanon; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. All who knew her were blessed by her life.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Bill; her daughter, Connie Caudle; her parents; and her sister, Ann Owens; and other close friends and relatives.
Though our hearts are broken, we have peace knowing she is with Jesus, hearing the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” Her legacy of faith, love, and hospitality will live on in all of us and in the many lives she touched.
There will be a private Celebration of Life held at a later date. A memorial has been established to Heritage Baptist Church for the Refuge Ministry and contributions may be left at the Funeral home.
