Alma A. Lindsey (Seymour)'s Obituary
Alma Arbertia Lindsey, daughter of Joseph K. and Julia O. (Baswell) McNeal, was born April 13, 1919, in St. Clair County, Alabama. She departed this life Tuesday, July 15, 2014, at the age of ninety-five years, three months and two days.
On August 28, 1948, she was united in marriage to Johnnie B. Lindsey. They shared over fifty-five wonderful years before his passing on February 21, 2005.
At a young age, Alma had accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior. She was a strong supporter of her church, Bell Road Church of God of Prophecy, in Huntsville, Alabama. She enjoyed attending services until her health began to fail. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking, reading, sewing, crocheting, making hand-decorated stationary, and just helping others. Alma will be remembered as a lady with a sweet, loving character who loved her God, her family and her friends very much. In addition to her parents and husband Johnnie, Alma was preceded in death by her daughter, Gloria Hearod, on November 16, 2000; son, Joel Lindsey, on April 2, 2012; and stepson Billy Lindsey. Alma is survived by her son, Gaylon Lindsey; stepson, Bob Lindsey and his wife Glanna; and stepdaughter, Catherine Moss and her husband Pursey; also sixteen grandchildren, and many greats, great-greats, and great-great-great grandchildren. We celebrate her life and many accomplishments and the legacy she leaves behind for her family. We will forever cherish the precious moments and memories she created for all those who were blessed enough to know and love her.
Alma's family will have a Celebration of Life Gathering on Saturday, July 19, 2014, at the family home in Seymour.
