Alma Reid's Obituary
lma Louise Reid, daughter of Benjamin A. and Rosa Ann Guthrie Davis, was born June 28, 1920. She departed this life Monday, April 7, 2008, at her home, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of eighty-seven years, nine months, and nine days. In October of 1935, she was united in marriage to Ralph Samuel Reid, and to this union one son and six daughters were born. Mr. Reid passed away on June 16, 1982. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her son, Don Wayne Reid; two daughters, Doris Richie and Ida Robinson; a grandson, Larry Hill; a great-grandson, Clayton Cooper; two sisters, Dorothy Lewis and Lelia Elam; four brothers, Charles, Leonard, Raymond and Jimmy Davis. Alma is survived by four daughters, Louise Builderback, Bonnie Reid, Emma Hill and her husband, Bill, all of Lebanon, Missouri, and Rosetta Richardson, and her husband, Curtis, of Eldridge, Missouri; thirteen grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She was raised and lived her life in the Laclede County Area. Throughout the years, she was a devoted homemaker to her husband and lovingly raised their children. She also worked at various businesses in the area, including Monger Moss Restaurant, Shepherd Hills Motel, and White Sands Motel. Alma made a profession of faith in Christ and was baptized early in her life by the Reverend Curtis Wilson at the Crossroads Freewill Baptist Church. In her spare time she enjoyed spending time with her family, and watching soap operas on television. Alma was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and will cherish the wonderful memories she created for her family and friends. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 9, 2008, in the Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Lebanon. Burial will be in the Crossroads Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 7 - 8:30 p.m. under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon, Missouri.
