Alveta Corbin's Obituary
Alveta Faye Corbin, daughter of Belfie Mack and Georgia Alberta Perryman Williams, was born September 26, 1945, in Lebanon, Missouri. She departed this life Thursday, January 26, 2006, in Cox Medical Center South, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of sixty years, and four months. On July 15, 1960, she was united in marriage to James H. Corbin, Sr., and to this union four sons were born. She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, Harold Gene Corbin; two brothers, Lester and Junior Williams; and three sisters, Eunice Jennings, Sue Gregory, and an infant. Faye is survived by her husband, James, of the home; three sons, James H. Corbin, Jr., of the State of Florida, Richard M. Corbin, and Jeffrey L. Corbin, both of Springfield, Missouri; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Jason Williams, of Lebanon, Missouri; two sisters, Ima Jean Hawkins, of Lebanon, Missouri, and Verba Weaver, of Marshfield, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She was born and raised in the Lebanon community, and attended Lebanon High School. After she and James were married, they made their home in Lebanon and lovingly raised their sons. Besides being a devoted and hardworking homemaker, Faye also worked as a waitress for several years, and then was employed by the H. D. Lee Company. For the last seventeen years, she and James had made their home in Springfield. Faye had made her profession of belief in Christ and followed the Pentecostal faith. In her spare time she enjoyed playing bingo, crocheting, and doing various kinds of craft projects. She also enjoyed visiting with her friends. Her family was very important to her and she especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Faye was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and will cherish the wonderful memories she created for her family and friends. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 2, 2006, in the Little Vine Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 7 - 8:30 p.m. under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon, Missouri. A memorial has been established and contributions may be made through the funeral home.
