Alvio Senna's Obituary
Alvio Thomas Senna, son of John J. and Julia (Rodrick) Senna, was born October 25, 1922, in Fresno, California. He departed this life Thursday, March 9, 2006, in his home, in Seymour, Missouri, at the the age of eighty-three years, four months, and fourteen days. On November 25, 1990, he was united in marriage to Birdie Alice Tuttle, and together they shared the last fifteen years. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Caroline Senna; three brothers, Evert Senna, Joe Senna, and Edward Senna. Alvio is survived by his wife, Birdie, of the home; six children, Carie Senna, Debbie Senna, Gloria Ney, Rainy Nickson, Raenell Stacy, and James Burght, all of Sacramento, California; six step-children, Wanda Willis, of Placerville, California, Clarice Jeffrey, Freda Gavin, and Rose Carl, all of Seymour, Missouri, David O’Bryan, of Wickenburg, Arizona, and Dan O’Bryan, of Mansfield, Missouri; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; four sisters, Amillia Corey, Rose Tompson, Mary Penka, and Elvera Senna, all of Sacramento, California; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. He was born and raised in California and spent all of his life there, until moving to Seymour a year ago. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy, and served his country faithfully during World War II. Alvio had made his profession of belief in Christ and followed the Catholic faith. He was a member of the Local 17 International Longshoremen’s and Warehousemen’s Union for twenty-four years at the Port of Sacramento. He was also a member of the Moose Lodge, in California, the Fraternal Order of the American Eagle in Ava and California, and American Legion Post #832, in Sacramento, California. In his spare time he enjoyed traveling, and had a passion for western swing and country western dancing. Alvio was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will treasure the memories he has created for his family and friends. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 13, 2006, in the Holman-Howe Chapel, Seymour. Entombment will be in the Rivermonte Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Springfield, Missouri. Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday until service time. Services are under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Seymour, Missouri.
