Amanda Carter's Obituary
Amanda Lorraine Carter, daughter of Phillip Leroy and Velma Marie Cupps Carter, was born June 13, 1985, in Los Banos, California. She departed this life Wednesday, May 20, 2009, in the University of Missouri Medical Center, in Columbia, Missouri, at the age of twenty-three years, eleven months, and seven days. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Annette Helen and John James Cupps; her paternal grandparents, Ruby June Davis and Phil Carter; and two brothers, Phil Carter, II, and Travis Carter. Amanda is survived by her parents, Phillip and Velma Carter, of Richland, Missouri; a brother, Phillip Wayne Carter, of Richland, Missouri; a sister, Felisha Carter, of Lebanon, Missouri; a niece; a nephew; several aunts, uncles and cousins; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She was born in California and then moved with her family to the Lebanon and Richland, Missouri area when she was two years old. She graduated from Richland High School in the Class of 2004. Amanda had worked with the Pulaski County Sheltered Workshop and had taken participated in the Special Olympics. Amanda had attended Community Baptist Church near Lebanon, Missouri. She enjoyed outdoor sports, swimming, and playing basketball. She also liked music and spending time with her family. Amanda was a loving daughter sister, aunt, and niece, and was a kind and caring friend. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her. Services will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday May 27, 2009 at the Holman-Howe Funeral home in Lebanon. Burial will be in the Lebanon Cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday evening 7-8:30 pm at the funeral home under the direction of the Holman-Howe Funeral Home Lebanon, Missouri. Return to top
