Angel LeeAnn Townsend, 45, passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St Louis MO. She was surrounded by love. Angel was born in Kansas City, Kansas on August 14,1980 to Duwayne Simmons and Donna S. Reed. She graduated MSU with a masters in social work. She was employed at CMH as a Home Health/Hospice social worker for the last 6 years. She loved taking care of people and she showed that everyday in her work and home life. Angel enjoyed attending Preston Bible Baptist Church with her friends and her partner. She enjoyed a sunny day surrounded by family and friends. If she wasn’t at the lake, she was picking out flowers to decorate the house with. A Saturday morning with a McDonalds coffee, going to garage sales with her kids, a trail ride on the side-by-side with her love, and a movie with family to end the night, was a perfect day to her. She will be remembered for her wonderful smile, giving heart, and selfless attitude. The laughs that turned into silent wheezes and most of all her beautiful singing voice. Her voice touched so many hearts. Angel Townsend is survived by her partner and the love of her life, Mark Young; her children, Brook Townsend, Jadyn Townsend, and Carliss Townsend; her father, Duwayne Simmons and his wife Sandy; her mother, Donna Reed and her husband Charles; her four siblings Crystal, Michael, George, and Robert. From us kids, Love Love, Mom.. Services will be held at a later date and will be private Family.
