Anita Mae Henson (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Anita Mae Henson, daughter of Lowell and Effie Elmore Broyles, was born May 13, 1939, near Lebanon, Missouri. She departed this life Tuesday, July 26, 2022, with family by her side, at the age of eighty-three years, two months, and thirteen days.
Early in her life she was united in marriage to Dale Henson on July 14, 1956, and to this union three daughters and one son were born.
She was preceded in death by her father; her husband, Dale, on May 6, 2005; a daughter, Pamela Henson; a son, Michael Henson; and a brother, Jerry Broyles.
Anita is survived by two daughters, Robin Gardner, of Independence, Missouri, and Renee Holley, and her husband, David, of Lake Lotawana, Missouri; five grandchildren, Kira Ward, Ashley Bender, Michael Henson, Jr., Quintin Gardner, and Mackenzy Holley; two great-grandchildren, Tucker and Paisley Henson; her mother, Effie Broyles, of Lebanon, Missouri; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was raised in the Lebanon, Missouri area and graduated from Lebanon High School. For most of her adult life she made her home in the Independence, Missouri area, where she and Dale were devoted parents and she was a loving homemaker. She also worked as a claims adjuster for GEHA for many years before retiring.
Anita followed the Freewill Baptist faith throughout her life.
She had been a Boy Scout and Girl Scout leader when her children were involved in scouting. She enjoyed being outdoors where one of her favorite activities was fishing. She liked to sew and was an avid reader. She loved her family dearly and especially enjoyed having time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Anita was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, and was a caring friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created with them during her lifetime.
