Anita Kennedy (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Anita Joan Kennedy, daughter of Timothy and Florence Connet Brasslett, was born October 2, 1942, in Bradford, Maine. She departed this life Wednesday, August 14, 2013, in her son’s home, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of seventy years, ten months, and twelve days.
In September of 1961, she was united in marriage to Ralph Maynard Kennedy, and to this union one son was born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ralph, on January 29, 1991; a brother, David Brasslett; and two sisters, Delores Cookson, and an infant, Cora May Brasslett.
Anita is survived by her son, Tim Kennedy, of Lebanon, Missouri; four grandchildren, Kelly A. Kennedy, Kevin A. Kennedy, Kurtis A. Kennedy, and Keath A. Kennedy; three brothers, Harry Brasslett, of the State of Connecticut, Adriane Brasslett, of the State of Maine, and Richard Brasslett, of the State of Massachusetts; four sisters, Barbara Grant, Jay Lezzot, Susie Brasslett, all of the State of Maine, and Mary Bowman, of the State of North Carolina; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in Maine, and then made her home in Massachusetts for most of her life. She resided in Millis, Massachusetts for many years, and in addition to being a devoted homemaker and mother, she worked as a housekeeper for the Four Seasons Nursing Home. She moved to Lebanon, Missouri, about seven years ago, to be nearer to Tim.
Anita had made her profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Lebanon First Assembly of God. In the last several years she had become very active in her church and was doing a personal study of the Bible.
In her spare time she enjoyed knitting, crocheting, doing needle point projects, and cooking. She loved being outdoors and particularly liked growing beautiful flowers. She also greatly enjoyed watching the birds. Her family was very important to her and she especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Anita was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them throughout her lifetime.
Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, and left at the funeral home
