After high school, Anita worked at the old Dairy Queen on West Broadway before taking a job at Litton Industries in Springfield, where she worked for 25 years. In her later years, she enjoyed reading, gardening, feeding birds, and bossing around her siblings. Anita was not a cat lady, but she did love to spoil her cats.
