Anita "Sue" LaMont (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Anita Sue LaMont, daughter of Roma and Blanche Bluejacket Hawk, was born March 18, 1940, in Claremore, Oklahoma. She departed this life Saturday, December 26, 2015, in her home, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of seventy-five years, nine months, and eight days.
On October 24, 1991, she was united in marriage to Vernon Marvin “Butch” LaMont and they shared the last twenty-four years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Jim, Lonzo, Edgar, Thurman, and Herman; and three sisters, Wynona, Dean, and Lois.
Sue is survived by her husband, Butch, of the home; two daughters, Jan Hutton, of Clarksville, Tennessee, and Johnna Vandelicht, of Lebanon, Missouri; three grandchildren, Crystal Henson, Joey Mills, and Travis Hine; a number of great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born in Claremore, Oklahoma and was raised in the Quapaw, Oklahoma area. She then made her home in Springfield, Missouri, where she worked as a sales clerk for the J. C. Penney Store for twelve years. She attended Lebanon Beauty School and earned her cosmetology license, and worked as a beautician in Lebanon for several years. Later, she worked for the M.F.A. Feed Company and at Empire Gas Corporation.
Sue was very active in the Veteran’s of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary where she had served as president. She was also the chairman of the V.F.W. Ladies Bingo committee and was active in all phases of the V.F.W.
She enjoyed traveling and liked spending time at the lake where she particularly enjoyed boating. She was very patriotic and supportive of those who served in the military. Her family was very important to her and she especially enjoyed having time with her grandchildren.
Sue was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them during her seventy-five years.
Memorial contributions may be made to the VFW Auxiliary, and left at the funeral home.
