Ann Carter (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Clara “Ann” Carter, of Lebanon, Missouri, was born October 19, 1935, in Edgecombe, North Carolina. She passed away on Wednesday, September 20, 2017, in Lebanon South Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s disease, at the age of eighty-one years, eleven months and one day.
She was preceded in death by her mother; Nora Speight “Faye” Watkins Dishman; her father and step-mother, Frederick and Lizzie Margueette; her step-father, Troy W. White; a sister, Avis Dunbar; her first husband, David Goodwin, and former husband and life friend, Leland Carter.
Ann is survived by three children; Patricia (Goodwin) Hooper, and her husband, Garland, of Fort Myers, Florida, Becky (Goodwin) Hetherington, and her husband James, of Glade Park, Colorado, and Ronald Carter, of Lawrence, Kansas; a granddaughter, Ginger Eodice, of North Fort Myers, Florida; a grandson, Brad Stone, of Clifton, Colorado; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Thomas Marquette, and his wife, Francis, of Scotland Neck, North Carolina; a sister, Kay Whitfield, of Tarboro, North Carolina; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in North Carolina. She later relocated and was a long time resident of Roby, Missouri, where she worked several bookkeeping jobs in the area prior to moving to Lebanon, Missouri. While in Lebanon she worked at the Super 8 Motel where she was the night desk clerk for many years, until retiring.
Ann was baptized and was most recently a member of the Roby Assembly of God Church. She also attended Mount Olivet Assembly of God near Lebanon, Missouri.
She enjoyed fishing, her pets, and flower gardening. She especially loved spending time with her family.
Ann was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and know that her family and friends will treasure the wonderful memories she made for them during her lifetime.
Memorial donations to the Alzheimer's Association may be made through the funeral home.
