Anna Allen's Obituary
Anna Pearl Allen, daughter of Adolph and Barbara Stenzinger Kathner, was born February 23, 1912, near Lebanon, Missouri. She departed this life Tuesday, June 21, 2011, in St. John?s Hospital, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of ninety-nine years, three months, and twenty-eight days.
On August 4, 1957, she was united in marriage to Forrest Allen, who preceded her in death on August 1, 1987.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Herman Kathner; and three sisters, Emma Doing, Selma Winfrey, and Martha Clark.
Anna is survived by two nephews, David Doing and Herman Doing; six nieces, Nadine Barrett, Neva Draheim, Maggie Massey, Kathryn Hawkins, Rosalie Winfrey, and Mary King; a number of great-nieces and great-nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in Laclede County, Missouri. She continued to live with her parents for several years and helped with the chores on the farm. She also worked for the Rice Stix Factory for several years. After she and Forrest were married, they made their home in Hutchison, Kansas for a few years, before returning to the Lebanon area. Anna was a devoted homemaker to her husband throughout the years.
Anna had professed her faith in Christ and was an active member of Ozark Bible Church.
In her spare time she was an avid reader. She was a very independent lady who took pride in being able to care for herself. She also cared for her parents during their declining years, and always had time for her nieces and nephews.
Anna was a loving aunt, and great-aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that she will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
