Anna Elizabeth Guinn (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Anna Elizabeth Guinn, daughter of Orvil Lewis and Willie Maude Medlock Larimore, was born June 16, 1926, near Newburg, Missouri. She departed this life Saturday, April 2, 2011, in Christian Health Care South, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of eighty-four years, nine months, and six days.
On December 27, 1945, in Niangua, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Bill Guinn by Rev. Fred McClanahan. To this union three daughters and one son were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill, on August 4, 2000; a granddaughter, Angela Gardner; and a son-in-law, Mike Shaw.
Anna is survived by three daughters, Peggy McVay, and her husband, Ronnie, of Lebanon, Missouri, Paula Shaw, of Fishers, Indiana, and Karen Elmore, and her husband, Denny, of Columbia, Missouri; a son, Billy Guinn, and his wife, Colleen, of Lebanon, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Jeff, Aaron, Chris, Michael, Beth, Kadie, and Jake; four great-grandchildren, Drew, Dalton, Cianna, and Whitney; a brother, Sam Larimore, of Arkansas City, Arkansas; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was raised in the Morgan community, and graduated from Conway High School. After she and Bill were married, they made their home in the Lebanon area and lovingly raised their children. Throughout the years, she was a devoted homemaker to her husband and family. Later, she and Bill did volunteer work at the care centers for several years.
Anna had professed her faith in Christ and was a longtime active member of Second Baptist Church. She had taught Sunday school and Vacation Bible School and was also involved in the Second Miler’s group.
She was an avid walker and was member of the hundred mile walking club. In her quiet times, she enjoyed reading, sewing and doing embroidery work. She also liked caring for her yard and raising beautiful flowers. Her family was always foremost in her life and she especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Anna was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them throughout the years.
