Anna Mae Ferguson (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Anna Mae Ferguson, daughter of Mathias and Mayme Roths Friess, was born August 29, 1930, in Ransom, Kansas. She departed this life Monday, December 28, 2015, in her home, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of eighty-five years, three months, and twenty-nine days.
Early in her life, she was united in marriage to Joe Baumgartner, and to this union three children were born.
On March 11, 1978, she was united in marriage to James Clifford Ferguson, and they shared thirty-three years before his passing on February 27, 2012.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; three grandchildren, Joshua Garcia, Dallas Everett, and James Everett; and a great-grandchild, Ryan Dowden.
Anna is survived by a son, Joseph Baumgartner, of Brea, California; two daughters, Shirley Jolin, of Brea, California, and Diane Ballhagen, and her husband, Lloyd Everett, of Lebanon, Missouri; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; six brothers, Elmer Friess, of the State of Pennsylvania, Don Friess, of Dodge City, Kansas, Harold Friess, of Topeka, Kansas, Fred Friess, of Hayes, Kansas, Dan Friess, of Spearville, Kansas, and Maurice Friess, of Ransom, Kansas; five sisters, Sister Janice Friess, of Wichita, Kansas, Mary Frances Flax, Rosella McClain, both of Ransom, Kansas, Janice Horning, of Spearville, Kansas, and Cathy Ator, of Prairie Village, Kansas; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in Ransom, Kansas, and attended Centralia Grade School, which was one mile from the family home. She then graduated from Ransom High School in the Class of 1948. After she and Joe were married, they made their home in San Jose, California, and lovingly began raising their children. In addition to being a devoted homemaker to her husband and family, Anna also worked as a waitress for many years. When Joe passed away, Anna moved back to Kansas and soon met and married James. They made their home in Ransom, Kansas, and operated a café there for some time. In 1989, they moved to Lebanon, Missouri and made their retirement home.
Anna was raised in the Catholic faith and was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Ransom, Kansas. Since moving to Lebanon, she had become a member of St. Francis DeSales Catholic Church.
In her spare time she enjoyed dancing and particularly liked good, old country music. Her family was always the center of her life and she especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Anna was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them during her eighty-five years.
