Anna M. Morgan's Obituary
Anna Mae Morgan, daughter of James Otis and Gladis Louise Thompson Hale, was born July 24, 1932 in Eldorado, Kansas. She departed this life Monday, June 26, 2006, in Laurie Care Center, Laurie, Missouri, at the age of seventy-three years, eleven months and two days. On July 12, 1949 in Newkirk, Oklahoma, she was united in marriage to Robert Edgar Morgan and to this union three sons and two daughters were born. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Richard Morgan and two brothers, Jimmie Hale and David Hale. Anna is survived by her loving husband, Robert Morgan of the home; two sons, Robert Morgan, Jr. of Camdenton, Missouri and Rick Morgan of Shawnee, Kansas; two daughters, Dorothy Folks and husband Aaron of Montreal, Missouri and Debra Gowin of Shawnee, Kansas; ten grandchildren, Morgan Folks of Montreal, Missouri, Justin Folks and wife Kristin of Camdenton, Missouri, Darran Gowin and wife Nisha of Kansas City, Kansas, Russ Mealor and wife Lachrisha of Camdenton, Missouri, Mika Ballance of Daytona, Florida, Eric Folks and wife Crystal of Montreal, Missouri, Ashley Scott of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, Jason Ballance and wife Carol of Laurie, Missouri and Kristie Nystrom of Waco, Texas; fifteen great-grandchildren; two brothers, Don Hale and wife Patty and Claude Hale and wife Barbara all of Wichita, Kansas; a sister, Barbara Hayes and husband Jack of Wichita, Kansas; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She was raised in Wichita, Kansas and graduated from North High School in 1954. She later attended nurses training. In 1959 she and Robert moved to Iola, Kansas where she owned and operated a clothing store named Ann’s Tiny Tot Shop. In 1964 the family moved to Kansas City, Missouri and in 1988 they retired to the lake area. Anna worked as a nurse for most of her career and retired from St. Joseph’s Hospital in Kansas City in 1988 after fifteen years of faithful service. Anna had made her profession of faith in Christ and was of the Nazarene faith. In her spare time, Anna enjoyed traveling and going to craft shows. She did ceramics for years and made many beautiful pieces. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family. Anna was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and will cherish the wonderful memories she created for her family and friends. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 30, 2006, in the Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton. Burial will be in Allee Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 6 - 8:00 p.m. under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton, Missouri.
