Anna Marie Mooney (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Anna Marie Mooney, daughter of Joseph and Mary D. Fair Schmoutey, was born November 8, 1921, near Bloodland, Missouri. She was united with her Lord and Savior in Heaven, on Saturday, June 2, 2012, in Strafford Care Center, in Strafford, Missouri, after a brief illness, at the age of ninety years, six months, and twenty-four days.
In August of 1942, she was united in marriage to Lloyd Mooney, and to this union one son was born. Lloyd passed away on December 20, 1958.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; and her brothers and sisters.
Anna is survived by a son, Cecil Mooney, and his wife, Jeanette, of Springfield, Missouri; two grandsons, Brian Mooney, and his wife, Amy, and Scott Mooney, and his wife, Anna; a step-grandson, Jason Black; four great-grandchildren, Chelsea Gwaltney, and her husband, Mike, Hannah, Noah, and Ashlyn Mooney; a great-great-grandson, Benjamin Gwaltney; two sisters-in-law, Maxine and Kathleen Schmoutey; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and many friends.
She was born and raised in the Bloodland community, and graduated from Stoutland High School in the Class of 1940. After she and Lloyd were married, they made their home in the Stoutland area, and lovingly raised their son. In addition to being a devoted homemaker to her husband, and family, Anna also worked as a bookkeeper at Ozark Fisheries for twenty-five years, retiring in 1992. For the last few years, she had made her home in Lebanon.
Anna was a longtime member of Stoutland United Methodist Church.
She also belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary for a number of years. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening, growing beautiful flowers, and shopping. Her family was very important to her and she especially enjoyed all of her grandchildren.
Anna was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them throughout the years.
