Anna May Short (Mansfield)'s Obituary
Anna May Short, daughter of Charles and Nellie Stewart Slemp was born November 24, 1933 in Rockport, Missouri and departed this life August 16, 2013 in her sons’ home near Mansfield, Missouri at the age of seventy-nine years, eight months and twelve days.
On August 4, 1955 she was united in marriage to Shadd Ansel Short and to this union four children were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Shadd on April 7, 1992.
Anna is survived by two sons, Charles(Chuck) Short and his wife, Brenda, Robert(Robbie) Short and his wife, Marty all of Mansfield, Missouri; two daughters, Cynthia(Cindy) Sanders and her husband, David of Mansfield, Missouri and Patricia(Patty) Price and her husband, Ricky of Mtn. Grove, Missouri; fourteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty Jo Shipley and her husband, Ron of Atlantic, Iowa; a brother, William(Bill) Slemp and his wife, Arlene of Sturgeon, Missouri as well as other relatives and many friends.
She was born and raised in Rockport and moved to Mansfield in the early 1950’s. She was a homemaker and had worked at Tobin-Hamilton Shoe Factory in the 1980’s. She lived the last few years of her life in Mtn. Grove.
Anna had made a profession of faith in Christ at an early age and was of the Baptist faith. She had recently rededicated her life to the Lord.
In her spare time she enjoyed playing solitaire on the computer, taking walks while her health permitted but most of all she loved her grandchildren and spending time with them.
Anna was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and we will always cherish the wonderful times we had with her.
