Annabell Ashley's Obituary
Annabell Ashley, daughter of Roy Elmer and Mable (Silvey) Barker, was born May 9, 1933, near Seymour, Missouri. She departed this life Tuesday, March 14, 2006, in Cox Medical Center South, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of seventy-two years, ten months, and five days. On February 17, 1951, she was united in marriage to Willie “Junior” Ashley and to this union two sons and one daughter were born. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Junior, on October 19, 1994; and a brother, Donald Barker. Annabell is survived by two sons, Jim Ashley, and his wife, Sandy, of Seymour, Missouri, and Bob Ashley, and his wife, Donna, of Hollister, Missouri; a daughter, Janet Lovelace, and her husband, Ken, of Rogersville, Missouri; six grandchildren, Michael and Steven Sparkman, of Springfield, Missouri, Alissa Blair, and her husband, Keith, of Ozark, Missouri, Taylor Ashley, of Hollister, Missouri, Martin Lovelace, and his wife, Amy, of Springfield, Missouri, and Josh Lovelace, and his fiancée, Carmen, of Springfield, Missouri; three brothers, Howard Barker, of Tacoma, Washington, Everett Barker, and his wife, Juanita, of Nixa, Missouri, and Wayne Barker, and his wife, Mollie, of Seymour, Missouri; a sister-in-law, Nadine Barker, of Seymour, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of relatives and friends. She spent her whole life in Seymour, where she and Junior lovingly raised their family. She was a devoted homemaker and an especially good mother to her children. Annabell had made her profession of faith in Christ, and followed the Pentecostal religion. She attended the Free Pentecostal Church in Seymour for many years and for the past twelve years had been attending the Fordland Free Will Baptist Church. In her spare time she enjoyed working on crossword and jigsaw puzzles, and loved to travel to various places in the United States. She also found great pleasure spending time with her cats. Annabell was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and will cherish the wonderful memories she created for her family and friends. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 17, 2006, in the Holman-Howe Chapel, Seymour. Burial will be in the Seymour Masonic Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 6 - 8:00 p.m. under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Seymour, Missouri.
