Ansel Ray Burris (Hartville)'s Obituary
Ansel Ray Burris, son of Calvin and Edna Hightower Burris, was born October 13, 1936. He departed this life Friday evening, March 9, 2018 in the Hartville Care Center, at the age of eighty-one years, four months, and twenty-nine days.
On October 6, 1956, Ansel was united in marriage to Carlene Benton. Later in his life, Ansel was united in marriage to Loretta Perkins and enjoyed her company until she passed in 2015.
Ansel is preceded in death by his loving wife, his parents, his infant son, Randy, and his brother Jerry, and his first wife Carlene.
He is survived by his son, Rick Burris of Falcon; two brothers, Mitchell Burris and his wife Chlorene, of Lebanon and Paul Burris and his wife Glenda, of Hartville; two sisters, Priscilla Carriger and Frances Baillie, both of Springfield; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many caring friends.
Ansel was born at his home in Wright County and was raised in the Hartville area where he attended the Durbin School. When he was finished with school he went to Kansas to start working out in the wheat fields and doing other various jobs. He later came back to Missouri and started working for Owens-Corning Fiberglass and Insulation. But, this job didn’t exactly fit him and he decided to quit and set up a dairy farm out in Falcon. He continued working on the dairy farm for as long as his health permitted.
Ansel loved to quail hunt and raise his bird and stock dogs. He also enjoyed fox trotting and owned several horses over the years. Most of all, Ansel loved his family and enjoyed the company he kept with his close friends. He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin, and caring friend. We celebrate his wonderful life and will always cherish the many happy memories he helped create.
