Anthony Garman's Obituary
Anthony Wayne Garman was born May 8, 1957, in Columbus, Ohio, and departed this life Thursday, March 4, 2010, in the University of Missouri Hospital, in Columbia, Missouri, at the age of fifty-two years, nine months, and twenty-six days. On February 2, 1991, he was united in marriage to Alice Darline Bennett, and to this union one son was born. Anthony is survived by his wife, Darline, of the home; a son, Nelson Anthony Garman, of the home; a brother, Johnny Garman; a sister, Paula; a step-brother; his step-father, Jack Reynolds, of Columbus, Ohio; a foreign exchange student that formerly lived in the Garman home, Shok; as well as a host of other relative and friends. He was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio, and graduated from high school there. He entered the military as a young man and faithfully served his country in the United States Army for twenty-one years. He officially retired from the Army as a Staff Sergeant in 1998. For the last several years, the family had lived in Lebanon, Missouri, and Anthony had worked at Independent Stave Company for five years, and then for Regal-Beloit Corporation for thirteen years. Anthony was a 32nd Degree Mason with the Pulaski County Masonic Lodge and was a Shriner from the Abou Ben Adhem Shrine Temple in Springfield, Missouri. In his spare time he enjoyed being outdoors where his favorite activities were fishing, and hunting, particularly with a bow and arrow. He also liked old cars. He was very protective of his family and greatly enjoyed spending time with his wife and son. He was a very kind person who was always willing to do anything for anybody. Anthony was a loving husband, father, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all of his family and many friends. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday March 8, 2010 at the Holman-Howe Funeral Home in Lebanon. Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Estates. Visitation will be Sunday evening 5-6:30 p.m. with a Masonic service begining at 5:00 p.m. under the direction of the Holman-Howe Funeral Home Lebanon, Missouri. Return to top
