Arlene Jones (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Glennis Arlene Jones, daughter of Lee Roy and Maggie Margaret Musgrave Tyre, was born June 12, 1935, near Lebanon, Missouri. She departed this life Tuesday, July 24, 2018, in Lebanon North Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of eighty-three years, one month, and twelve days.
On November 15, 1951, she was united in marriage to Homer Ray Jones, and to this union four sons were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Homer, on September 2, 2007; a son, Doyle Jones; and two brothers, Farris Tyre, and Charles Vernon.
Arlene is survived by three sons, Randall Jones, and his wife, Kelli, Harlan Jones, and his wife, Susan, and Dennis Jones, all of Lebanon, Missouri; ten grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and many friends.
She was raised in the Lebanon and Competition areas of Laclede County. After she and Homer were married, they made their home on their dairy farm near Lebanon and lovingly raised their sons. In addition to being a devoted homemaker to her husband and family, Arlene was also a dedicated farmer’s wife who supported her husband and could help on the farm when needed.
Arlene made her profession of faith in Christ early in her life and was a longtime active member of New Home Freewill Baptist Church near Falcon, Missouri.
She enjoyed horses, four wheeling, raising dogs and caring for the puppies. She also was a wonderful cook and enjoyed making special recipes for her family and friends. She could be a little outspoken but you never had to wonder where she stood on issues. She loved her family dearly and especially enjoyed having time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Arlene was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them during her eighty-three years.
Memorial contributions to the New Home Cemetery, may be made through the funeral home.
